The Influence of the Kind of Soft Magnetic Powder on Power Losses in Soft Magnetic Composites

2010
Soft magnetic composites called dielectromagnetics find more and more applications in electric transducers. Power losses are among the main parameters of soft magnetic materials, decisive for their application. The kind of magnetic powder and technology of production of magnetic elements influences the level of power losses.

Magnetization behavior of hard/soft-magnetic composite pillar

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2008
Abstract Hard/soft-magnetic composite pillar array medium is proposed for ultra-high-density recording media. Magnetization reversal process for a single hard/soft-magnetic composite pillar in the medium is calculated using the Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert equation.

Application of soft magnetic composites in active magnetic bearings

IECON 2011 - 37th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2011
One of the main application areas of active magnetic bearings is turbo machinery. Such machines run at high speeds and through application of magnetic bearing bearings mechanical contact and friction between rotor and stator can be avoided. Nevertheless magnetic bearings still cause rotor losses through eddy currents and magnetic hysteresis effects ...

Hard-soft composite magnets (invited)

2007
A thorough micromagnetic analysis of the exchange-spring problem is reported with special emphasis on multilayers constituted by hard-soft exchange-coupled phases. The developed one-dimensional micromagnetic model leads to a complete magnetic phase diagram in terms of layer thicknesses. Both perpendicular and parallel configurations are considered. The
