Magnetic properties of rapidly quenched soft magnetic materials
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 1997Abstract The discovery and large scale investigation of rapidly solidified alloys have brought to light, in the last two decades, a new scenario in basic and applied magnetism. With a range of compositions and microstructural states unavailable to conventional materials, the rapidly quenched alloys have in fact demonstrated unprecedented versatile ...

Nanostructured Soft Magnetic Materials
2009Reduction of the grain size to less than 20 nm has provided major advances in soft magnetic materials performance, including reduced core losses and coercivities. These promising results have stimulated research efforts, worldwide, in the areas of nanocrystalline alloy design, alloy processing, materials performance evaluation, and transition to ...

Soft magnetic nanocrystalline materials
Scripta Metallurgica et Materialia, 1995Abstract The microstructure property relationship in soft magnetic nanocrystalline Fe-base materials is surveyed: The basic mechanism is that the magneto-crystalline anisotropy of the small, randomly oriented bcc-Fe grains is averaged out by exchange interaction. The resulting magnetic behaviour can be well described with the random anisotropy model.

Magnetic amplifiers using magnetically soft material
1987 2nd IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 1987Magnetic amplifiers post regulators are often used in multiple output power supplies to achieve independent regulation of the additional outputs. This paper describes a method of constructing saturable reactor regulators which eliminates the square loop requirements and allows the use of magnetically soft materials.

Magnetic losses in soft magnetic materials
2015Soft magnetic materials are important in modern networks used for the distribution of electrical energy. They are part of transformers and generators as core material for example. The efficiency of those transformers and generators is among other things limited by the fact that energy has to be used to change the magnetization of the material.
