Circularly polarized resonant soft x-ray diffraction study of helical magnetism in hexaferrite

open access: yes, 2010
Magnetic spiral structures can exhibit ferroelectric moments as recently demonstrated in various multiferroic materials. In such cases the helicity of the magnetic spiral is directly correlated with the direction of the ferroelectric moment and ...

Nanostructured exchange coupled hard / soft composites: from the local magnetization profile to an extended 3D simple model

open access: yes, 2011
In nanocomposite magnetic materials the exchange coupling between phases plays a central role in the determination of the extrinsic magnetic properties of the material: coercive field, remanence magnetization.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Powder metallurgical materials and processes for soft magnetic applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
For many designers of electrical machines, the term “soft magnetic materials” automatically means laminated electrical sheet. This is unfortunate, since for many applications, particularly at low frequencies, laminated sheet is rarely the best material ...

Multiscale Finite Element Modeling of Nonlinear Magnetoquasistatic Problems Using Magnetic Induction Conforming Formulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we develop magnetic induction conforming multiscale formulations for magnetoquasistatic problems involving periodic materials. The formulations are derived using the periodic homogenization theory and applied within a heterogeneous ...

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Hysteresis Modelling of Soft Magnetic Materials using LabVIEW Programs

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2010
The paper deals with an analytical model for hysteresis cycle representation. The hysteresis curve is decomposed in a series of arcs of circles and segments of lines.
