Print‐and‐Plate Architected Electrodes for Electrochemical Transformations Under Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Typical flow cell electrodes are composed of stochastic porous carbon, limiting understanding of electrode structure‐performance relationships. This work describes an approach, termed “print‐and‐plate,” to prepare porous electrodes by direct ink writing followed by conformal metal coating.

Resolving the large scale spectral variability of the luminous Seyfert 1 galaxy 1H 0419-577: Evidence for a new emission component and absorption by cold dense matter

open access: yes, 2004
An XMM-Newton observation of the luminous Seyfert 1 galaxy 1H 0419-577 in September 2002, when the source was in an extreme low-flux state, found a very hard X-ray spectrum at 1-10 keV with a strong soft excess below ~1 keV.

Laser Nanofabrication of Soft Matter

open access: yes, 2014
© Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2014. Laser based techniques constitute an advantageous versatile approach for the assembly and control at nanometer scale of polymers and biopolymers, fundamental components of soft matter. In this chapter, laser nanostructuring of thin films of these materials will be illustrated by studies on laser ...

Designing of Self‐Dispersing Soft Dendritic Microcleaners for Microplastics Capture and Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The capture and recovery of microplastics from open aquatic systems is a complex problem, which necessitates nontrivial solutions. The principles of a comprehensive multistage process based on sustainably sourced microcleaners with hierarchical morphology are demonstrated.

Baryon asymmetry and dark matter from soft leptogenesis

open access: yes, 2013
The framework for soft leptogenesis minimally extended with a DM sector is studied. A heavy singlet neutrino superfield acts as the source for (s)lepton asymmetry and by coupling to the singlet DM superfield it produces a DM particle density through ...

Exploring Electronic States and Ultrafast Electron Dynamics in AlInP Window Layers: The Role of Surface Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the surface characteristics of AlInP (001), crucial for advanced solar cells and photoelectrochemical devices. Using theoretical modeling and experiments, it identifies how phosphorus‐rich and indium‐rich surfaces create mid‐gap states that pin the Fermi level and influence ultrafast electron dynamics.
