On next-to-eikonal exponentiation

open access: yes, 2010
The eikonal approximation is at the heart of many theoretical and phenomenological studies involving multiple soft gauge boson emissions in high energy physics.

Fabrication of Multifunctional FeSi Gyroid Lattice Composites via Additive Manufacturing and Polymer Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐step approach combining laser powder bed fusion of FeSi electrical steel with Bakelite infiltration enables the fabrication of multifunctional gyroid lattice composites. The resulting structures exhibit high strength, magnetic anisotropy, and complete polymer infiltration, demonstrating a simple and scalable route toward lightweight, mechanically

Discovery of multiple Lorentzian components in the X-ray timing properties of the Narrow Line Seyfert 1 Ark 564

open access: yes, 2007
We present a power spectral analysis of a 100 ksec XMM-Newton observation of the narrow line Seyfert 1 galaxy Ark~564. When combined with earlier RXTE and ASCA observations, these data produce a power spectrum covering seven decades of frequency which is

Whither soft power? Divisions, milestones, and prospects of a research programme in the making

open access: yesJournal of Political Power, 2019
The rapid expansion of soft-power scholarship has made its central concept one of the most recognisable terms in the discipline of international relations.

Exploring Dipolar Dynamics and Ionic Transport in Metal‐Organic Frameworks: Experimental and Theoretical Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the interplay of dipolar dynamics and ionic charge transport in MOF compounds is investigated. Synthesizing the novel structure CFA‐25 with integrated freely rotating dipolar groups, local and macroscopic effects, including interactions with Cs cations are explored.

Recent advances of metal suboxide catalysts for carbon‐neutral energy applications

open access: yesEcoEnergy
Metal suboxides have emerged as a class of promising candidates for many electrocatalytic applications owing to their enhanced electrical conductivity and chemical activities. In this review, we have summarized the recent progress of metal suboxides.

Soft Power and Struggles for Leadership: The United States, Russia and China [PDF]

open access: yesContemporary Chinese Political Economy and Strategic Relations: An International Journal, 2020
This article argues that struggles for global leadership and soft power are at the center of gaining consent of the ruled. The United States once led the world in leadership. It is now facing serious challenges because of its own doing.

The puzzle of the soft X-ray excess in AGN: absorption or reflection?

open access: yes, 2005
The 2-10 keV continuum of AGN is generally well represented by a single power law. However, at smaller energies the continuum displays an excess with respect to the extrapolation of this power law, called the ''soft X-ray excess''.

Bulk motion Comptonization in black-hole accretion flows

open access: yes, 2005
We study spectra generated by Comptonization of soft photons by cold electrons radially free-falling onto a black hole. We use a Monte Carlo method involving a fully relativistic description of Comptonization in the Kerr space-time.
