Analysis and Optimization of Early‐Warning Indicators for Impact Critical Stress in Deep Soft Coal Seams

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 8, Page 3726-3740, August 2026.
This study determines the impact critical stress early‐warning indicators for deep soft coal seams: 18 MPa (shallow holes), 20 MPa (deep holes), and 3 MPa/d daily stress change rate, via theoretical, experimental and simulation methods. ABSTRACT The accurate determination of early‐warning indicators for critical impact stress in deep soft coal seams is

Study on Deformation Law of Crossing Layer Drilling Superimposed Floor Roadway

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 6, Page 2752-2771, June 2026.
Based on deformation law of crossing layer drilling superimposed floor roadway, low dip angle drilling is particularly susceptible to complications such as borehole blockage and collapse. ABSTRACT Floor extraction roadway crossing layer drilling is a pivotal strategy for gas control in areas prone to coal and gas outbursts.

Experimental Investigation of Sensitivity for Coal and Gas Outburst Risk Prediction Indexes in Raw and Tectonic Composite Coal Seams

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 6, Page 2772-2784, June 2026.
A comparative study was conducted on gas desorption laws of raw and tectonic coals. The sensitivity of regional and local outburst prediction indexes was compared. Gas content is more sensitive than gas pressure for composite coal seams. K1 can more accurately predict the outburst danger than Δ h 2 in composite coal seams.

Study of Floor Heave Mechanism in Deep Soft Rock Roadway

open access: yesDEStech Transactions on Environment, Energy and Earth Science, 2017
Flac3D is utilized to study floor heave mechanism and propose corresponding solving method of floor bolt-grouting in roadways under 550m in Longmei company. In addition, Flac3D can perform the simulation of stress field and displacement field and plastic zone in order to improve rationality of the scheme.
