Sampling rare switching events in biochemical networks

open access: yes, 2004
Bistable biochemical switches are ubiquitous in gene regulatory networks and signal transduction pathways. Their switching dynamics, however, are difficult to study directly in experiments or conventional computer simulations, because switching events ...

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.

Soft switched DC-DC converter

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
A soft switched single switch isolated dc-dc conveys proposed in this paper. This converter works on the principle of zero current switching (zcs) and zero voltage switching (zvs). The circuit comprises lossless snubber with low rating. The switch works on zcs during turn on and zvs during turnoff.

Biomimetic Iridescent Skin: Robust Prototissues Spontaneously Assembled from Photonic Protocells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Uniform nanoparticles are induced to form arrays (photonic crystals) in the cores of biopolymer capsules, endowing these ‘protocells’ with structural color. These protocells are then assembled into large self‐standing objects, i.e., prototissues, with robust mechanical properties as well as iridescent optical properties.

Parallel soft switching converter with fewer switch counts

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2018
A parallel direct current (DC) to DC converter is presented for medium power applications. The studied converter includes three half‐bridge circuits with sharing two power switches at high‐voltage side to reduce switch counts. Three half‐bridge circuits are connected by primary‐parallel and secondary‐parallel to reduce the current stress of power ...

Soft switch-avalanche IGBT convertor

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1990
A full bridge dc-dc converter using a zero voltage and zero current switching technique is described. This circuit utilizes the characteristics of the IGBT to achieve power and frequency combinations that are much higher than those previously reported for this device.

Application of natural commutation technique to an improved cycloconverter type high-frequency link inverter with center-tapped transformer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This thesis presents a new isolated cycloconverter type high frequency (HF) link dc to ac power converter (inverter) that consists of three arms of bidirectional switches at transformer secondary.

Fermi Surface Nesting and Anomalous Hall Effect in Magnetically Frustrated Mn2PdIn

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mn2PdIn, a frustrated inverse Heusler alloy, showing electronic‐structure driven anomalous Hall effect with Weyl crossings, Fermi‐surface nesting and near‐zero magnetization ideal for low‐magnetization spintronics. Abstract Noncollinear magnets with near‐zero net magnetization and nontrivial bulk electronic topology hold significant promise for ...
