Soft-switching buck inverter

Journal of Power Electronics, 2020
The soft-switching buck inverter, which is mainly applied to solve the contradictions between the switching frequency and the shoot-through problem along with the dead-time effect, is proposed in this paper. A detailed analysis of the relationship between the range of the duty ratio to realize soft-switching as well as the additional voltage stress and

Switching-invariant models of soft-switching cells

2001 IEEE 32nd Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.01CH37230), 2002
In this paper, a model representing the switching invariant properties of soft-switching cells is presented. On the basis of the application of the compensation theorem and of the adoption of the switching cell modeling approach, a cause-effect model of the behavior of six families of switching cells in hard and soft commutations is formulated.

Soft Switching in Switched Inertance Hydraulic Circuits

BATH/ASME 2016 Symposium on Fluid Power and Motion Control, 2016
Switched Inertance Hydraulic Systems (SIHS) use inductive, capacitive, and switching elements to boost or buck a pressure from a source to a load in an ideally lossless manner. Real SIHS circuits suffer a variety of energy losses, with throttling of flow during transitions of the high-speed valve resulting in 44% of overall losses.

Analysis of switching-invariant characteristics of soft-switching cells

IECON'01. 27th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (Cat. No.37243), 2002
In this paper, a model representing the switching invariant properties of soft-switching cells is presented. On the basis of the application of the compensation theorem and of the adoption of the switching cell modeling approach, a cause-effect model of the behavior of six families of switching cells in hard and soft commutations is formulated.

Microcontroller based soft-switched buck converter

2009 4th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2009
In this paper, a universal auxiliary circuit named Zero Current and Zero Voltage Transition (ZCZVT) commutation cell applied to buck converter is presented. The operation of the proposed ZCZVT commutation cell applied to buck converter is theoretically analyzed. With the use of the proposed commutation cell, which is activated only during the switching

Soft-switching solid state transformer (S4T)

2016 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2016
This paper presents a new topology for a fully bidirectional soft-switching solid state transformer (S4T). The minimal topology, featuring 12 main devices and a high-frequency transformer, does not use an intermediate DC voltage link, and provides sinusoidal input and output voltages. The S4T can be configured to interface with two-or multi-terminal DC,

Soft switching choppers: A study by the equivalent soft switching cell method

Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 1990
The switching cell concept was first introduced and used in order to study the micro-phenomena involved in the switching process; parasitics' influence, switching losses, snubbers, soft switching principle and so on. The authors demonstrate that the switching cell can also be a very efficient tool in the study of various converter topologies.

Soft-switching audiometer

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1984
To provide both for soft-switching, that is, elimination of switching clicks, and rapid rise and decay of tone supply from a frequency generator (10) to an audio transducer (13), two electronic switches (11, 16) are provided, one interrupting connection from the source to an audio amplifier amplifying the signals for the transducer, and the other (16 ...

Noise adaptive soft-switching median filter

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2001
Existing state-of-the-art switching-based median filters are commonly found to be nonadaptive to noise density variations and prone to misclassifying pixel characteristics at high noise density interference. This reveals the critical need of having a sophisticated switching scheme and an adaptive weighted median filter.
