Accurate Transient Calorimetric Measurement of Soft-Switching Losses of 10-kV SiC mosfets and Diodes

IEEE transactions on power electronics, 2018
The characterization of soft-switching losses (SSL) of modern high-voltage SiC mosfets is a difficult but necessary task in order to provide a sound basis for the accurate modeling of converter systems, such as medium-voltage-connected solid-state ...

Soft switching of KY converter

2008 Twenty-Third Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2008
In this paper, the soft switching technique is applied to the KY converter to upgrade the efficiency in the neighborhood of the rated load and hence enhance its capability in industrial applications. The details of the soft switching for the KY converter are illustrated along with some simulation and experimental results to verify the effectiveness of ...

New soft switched PWM converter

PESC Record. 27th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2002
A new soft switched pulse width modulation (PWM) converter which operates a fixed frequency is proposed. The main switches are always switched at zero voltage, and the auxiliary switches are softly switched. The voltage and current stresses of the switches are minimized as in conventional PWM converters.

Soft-switching PWM converters

2016
A full-bridge zero-voltage-switching pulse-width-modulated converter employs a saturable reactor in place of the linear inductor in order to reduce current stress on the active switches, reduce voltage stress on the rectifier diodes, and reduce secondary parasitic ringing.

Faster switching for soft magnets

Science, 2018
Magnetic Materials The most familiar magnets are permanent magnets like the ones on a refrigerator door. However, for applications in transformers and motors, soft magnets that can rapidly switch their magnetization in response to a magnetic field are used.
