Automatic Tissue Traction Using Miniature Force-Sensing Forceps for Minimally Invasive Surgery [PDF]
A common limitation of autonomous tissue manipulation in robotic minimally invasive surgery (MIS) is the absence of force sensing and control at the tool level. Recently, our team has developed miniature force-sensing forceps that can simultaneously measure the grasping and pulling forces during tissue manipulation.

High‐Speed and Scalable Wet Spinning of Graphene/Liquid Crystalline Elastomer Composite Filaments
Polydomain filaments from graphene/liquid crystalline elastomer (LCE) composites are scalably‐manufactured by wet spinning across a wide range of diameters (≈137–1128 µm) at a speed up to 4500 m h−1 through a double diffusion coagulation mechanism, enabling fast actuation and optimized mechanical performance for broad applications.

Early Failure Detection in Autonomous Surgical Soft-Tissue Manipulation via Uncertainty Quantification [PDF]
Autonomous surgical robots are a promising solution to the increasing demand for surgery amid a shortage of surgeons. Recent work has proposed learning-based approaches for the autonomous manipulation of soft tissue. However, due to variability in tissue geometries and stiffnesses, these methods do not always perform optimally, especially in out-of ...

Extramedullary Plasmacytoma of Soft Tissues and Gingiva [PDF]
Extramedullary plasmacytoma (EMP) is a rare plasma cell neoplasm of soft tissue without bone marrow involvement or other systemic characteristics of multiple myeloma. It accounts for 3% of all plasma cell tumors.
