Peri-Implant Soft Tissue Augmentation with Connective Tissue Graft Substitutes

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The soft tissue around dental implants plays a crucial role in achieving successful rehabilitation outcomes related to aesthetics, peri-implant health, and bone stability. These tissues, made up of mucosa and keratinized tissue, serve different functions

From Rigid to Soft Robotic Approaches for Neuroendoscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Robotic assistance has had minimal impact on deep intraventricular surgeries, where small‐scale, precision, and reduced invasiveness can contribute to improved patient outcomes. Emerging technologies in rigid, soft, and hybrid robotics are reviewed to identify the most promising mechanisms for deep brain navigation in addition to an attempt to identify

TacScope: A Miniaturized Vision‐Based Tactile Sensor for Surgical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
TacScope is a compact, vision‐based tactile sensor designed for robot‐assisted surgery. By leveraging a curved elastomer surface with pressure‐sensitive particle redistribution, it captures high‐resolution 3D tactile feedback. TacScope enables accurate tumor detection and shape classification beneath soft tissue phantoms, offering a scalable, low‐cost ...

Simultaneous hard and soft tissue augmentation for peri-implant soft tissue defects: A case report [PDF]

open access: yesKouqiang yixue
Due to the anatomical differences between peri-implant soft tissues and natural teeth, the treatment of peri-implant soft tissue defects is more challenging and less predictable than the management of gingival recession around natural teeth. This article

The effect of soft tissue augmentation on the clinical and radiographical outcomes following immediate implant placement and provisionalization: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Implant Dentistry, 2021
Background Nowadays, due to the esthetic and social demands of patients, conventional staged protocols seem to be increasingly replaced by faster, one-step protocols.

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Three-year follow-up of a case with autonomous robot-assisted early implant placement and soft tissue augmentation in the esthetic zone [PDF]

open access: yesKouqiang yixue
This article reports a case of early implant placement combined with soft tissue augmentation for a defect in the esthetic zone. During the surgery, an autonomous dental implant robot (Yake Intelligence, Beijing, China) assisted with implant placement ...

ChicGrasp: Imitation‐Learning‐Based Customized Dual‐Jaw Gripper Control for Manipulation of Delicate, Irregular Bio‐Products

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Automated poultry processing lines still rely on humans to lift slippery, easily bruised carcasses onto a shackle conveyor. Deformability, anatomical variance, and hygiene rules make conventional suction and scripted motions unreliable. We present ChicGrasp, an end‐to‐end hardware‐software co‐designed imitation learning framework, to offer a ...
