Magnetopause Detection under Low Solar Wind Density Based on Deep Learning
Extracting the peak value of the X-ray signal in the original magnetopause detection method of soft X-ray imaging (SXI) for the SMILE satellite is problematic because of the unclear interface of the magnetosphere system under low solar wind density and ...

Soft X-Ray-induced Dimerization of Methane
Carbon 1s excitation of methane, CH _4 , has been studied in the gas phase using the ion trap integrated with the photon–ion instrument at PETRA III/DESY and soft X-rays from the beamline P04.

The Radiation Transfer of Soft X-rays [PDF]
AbstractWe discuss the link between the halo plasma temperature and the power-law spectral index of the extragalactic background radiation. This link is of strong influence for the derivation of the Galactic halo intensity distribution. In principal, we can distinguish between two combinations of Galactic halo plasma temperature and power-law slope ...

We demonstrate an x-ray imaging method that combines Fourier transform holography with tomography (‘tomoholography’) for three-dimensional (3D) microscopic imaging. A 3D image of a diatom shell with a spatial resolution of 140 nm is presented. The experiment is realized by using a small gold sphere as the reference wave source for holographic imaging ...

On the soft X‐ray emission of M82 [PDF]
AbstractWe present a spatial analysis of the soft X‐ray and Hα emissions from the outflow of the starburst galaxy M82. We find that the two emissions are tightly correlated on various scales. The O VII triplet of M82, as resolved by X‐ray grating observations of XMM‐Newton, is dominated by the forbidden line, inconsistent with the thermal prediction ...

Soft X-ray characterization of halide perovskite film by scanning transmission X-ray microscopy
Organic–inorganic metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have recently been receiving a lot of attention due to their newfound application in optoelectronic devices, including perovskite solar cells (PSCs) which have reached power conversion efficiencies as ...

X-ray emission characteristics in magnetically driven plasma jet experiments on PTS facility
Jets are commonly observed astrophysical phenomena. To study the x-ray emission characteristics of jets, a series of radial foil Z-pinch experiments are carried out on the Primary Test Stand at the Institute of Fluid Physics, China Academy of Engineering

Soft X-ray Emission of Quasars [PDF]
From a list of known quasars compiled from various catalogues we selected all sources detected by the PSPC (0.1 – 2.4 keV) aboard ROSAT with more than 80 counts during the all sky survey. A sample of 102 sources resulted. At higher redshifts most of the selected sources are radio-loud. At a redshift smaller than 0.50 we found 54 radio-quiet quasars and

Advances in soft X-ray emission of the Earth's magnetosphere
The coupling between solar wind and the magnetosphere and the dynamic processes in geo-space are the basic driving factors of space weather. Understanding these processes on the system level is essential to the studies of space physics and space weather.
