Programmable Networks—From Software-Defined Radio to Software-Defined Networking
IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials, 2015Current implementations of Internet systems are very hard to be upgraded. The ossification of existing standards restricts the development of more advanced communication systems. New research initiatives, such as virtualization, software-defined radios, and software-defined networks, allow more flexibility for networks.

Towards software defined cognitive networking
2015 7th International Conference on New Technologies, Mobility and Security (NTMS), 2015Cognitive networking has the potential to enable autonomic network management by empowering the network components to automatically adjust to the changing network environment. However, strict isolation between the layers of the currently used communication model and static nature of networking equipment have delimited the deployment of cognitive ...

Software defined healthcare networks
IEEE Wireless Communications, 2015With the increasingly serious problem of the aging population, creating an efficient and real-time health management and feedback system based on the healthcare Internet of Things (HealthIoT) is an urgent need. Specifically, wearable technology and robotics can enable a user to collect the required human signals in a comfortable way.

Attacking software-defined networks
Proceedings of the second ACM SIGCOMM workshop on Hot topics in software defined networking, 2013In this paper, for the first time we show a new attack to fin- gerprint SDN networks and further launch efficient resource consumption attacks. This attack demonstrates that SDN brings new security issues that may not be ignored. We provide the first feasibility study of such attack and hope to stimulate further studies in SDN security research.
