Monitoring software components and component-based software
Proceedings 24th Annual International Computer Software and Applications Conference. COMPSAC2000, 2002Component engineering is gaining substantial interest in the software engineering community. A lot of research effort has been devoted to analysis and design methods for component-based software. However, only few papers have addressed the testing and maintenance problems of component-based software.

A Taxonomy of Software Component Models
31st EUROMICRO Conference on Software Engineering and Advanced Applications, 2005CBSE currently lacks a universally accepted terminology. Existing component models adopt different component definitions and composition operators. We believe that for future research it would be crucial to clarify and unify the CBSE terminology, and that the starting point for this endeavour should be a study of current component models. In this paper,

Dependability in Software Component Deployment
2nd International Conference on Dependability of Computer Systems (DepCoS-RELCOMEX '07), 2007The deployment of distributed systems is extremely complex. Indeed, software deployment faces significant problems of success and safety. These problems are due to the lack of a unified model, a global architecture for deployment and an explicit dependency representation among the target system and application components.

Software release management for component‐based software
Software: Practice and Experience, 2002AbstractSoftware release management is the process through which software is made available to and obtained by its users. Until now, this process has been relatively straightforward. However, the emergence of component‐based software is complicating software release management.

Proceedings of the 28th international conference on Software engineering, 2006
Component-based Development (CBD) is an important emerging topic in Software Engineering, promising long sought after benefits like increased reuse and reduced time-to-market (and hence software production cost). However, there are at present many obstacles to overcome before CBD can succeed.

Optimization of software components selection for component-based software system development
Computers & Industrial Engineering, 2010During the last two decades, there has been a growing interest in component-based software system (CBSS) development both in academia and in industry. In CBSS development, it is common to identify software modules first. Once they are determined, we need to select appropriate software components for each software module.

Dependability certification of software components
Journal of Systems and Software, 2000Software components need a uniform approach for rating their quality. The need for this stems from a licensee's inaccessibility to the source code as well as other information concerning how thoroughly the component was validated. This paper proposes a `test quality rating' (TQR) metric that will act as a component's dependability `score'.

Model for fusion of software components
Companion Proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Modularity, 2016Current applications, especially those that cannot stop their execution, such as banking systems, airport management, and critical mission environments, among others, require of suitable mechanisms to respond immediately and automatically to constant changes of the execution environment and user requirements. In response to such issues, self-adaptation

Intelligent monitoring of software components
2012 First International Workshop on Realizing AI Synergies in Software Engineering (RAISE), 2012We propose to use Artificial Intelligence techniques to monitor and control complex processing chains of software components. We consider software systems that run in an evolving environment and thus may require adaptation at run time. Our approach relies on knowledge representations of both structural and dynamic aspects of components and processing ...
