Software Measurement Standards in Surface Metrology: Basics, Concepts, Methods

open access: yes, 2012
This book documents the realisation of software measurement standards in surface metrology, as part of the National Measurement System in the UK. Those standards, in the form of the reference dataset with reference results, have been developed by both ...

A Graph Embedding Method Based on Sparse Representation for Wireless Sensor Network Localization

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2014
In accordance with the problem that the traditional trilateral or multilateral estimation localization method is highly dependent on the proportion of beacon nodes and the measurement accuracy, an algorithm based on kernel sparse preserve projection ...

A Risk Measurement Model of Software Project Based on Grey Variable Weight Clustering analysis

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2016
Effectively identifying and analyzing risks are critical to ensuring the quality of software project. Risk measurement analysis of software project is a process of multi-factor, fuzziness, hierarchy and complexity, in response to which we carry out a ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

A high-sensitivity flexible bionic tentacle sensor for multidimensional force sensing and autonomous obstacle avoidance applications

open access: yesMicrosystems & Nanoengineering
Bionic tentacle sensors are important in various fields, including obstacle avoidance, human‒machine interfaces, and soft robotics. However, most traditional tentacle sensors are based on rigid substrates, resulting in difficulty in detecting ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

The application of vibration tactile stimulation in hand motor imagery paradigm: a pilot study

open access: yesBrain-Apparatus Communication
Background The motor imagery (MI) paradigm is widely used in active brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), but its effectiveness is hindered by accuracy limitations and individual variability.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Formal software measurements for object-oriented business models. [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper presents a set of metrics and pseudo-metrics for the measurement of conceptual distances in M.E.R.O.D.E. business models. The measures are developed and validated using measure and measurement theory.
