Software Process in Software Project Management
2008 International Conference on Computer Science and Software Engineering, 2008This paper studied how to manage software projects in small sized companies by process analysis. It put out software process framework and engineering cases to demonstrate that an essential and defined process is very important for software products and software project management in small sized companies.

Software metrics in students' software development projects
Proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Computer Systems and Technologies, 2015A software metric is the measurement of a particular characteristic of a software or the measurement of a software project and process. In this paper we study how student project managers and team members observe metrics, like working hours, number of test cases, requirement statuses, regular reporting, and number of code commits, and which metrics ...

The key to risk management is to be as complete as possible in identifying project risks. This paper discusses the project-scoping process, which is being successfully used by software developers at AT&T Global Information Solutions. Project scoping is a method or process used for identifying and assessing risks to determine a project's feasibility ...

PODS — A project on diverse software
IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, 1986A review of the Project on Diverse Software (PODS), a collaborative software reliability research project, is presented. The purpose of the project was to determine the effect of a number of different software development techniques on software reliability.

Project visualization for software
IEEE Software, 2006A software product "blueprint" let stakeholders view a software project's status at any point in the development. The work on requirements analysis and design when only the designers understand a software project's progress can be frustrating. Although a project leader should give progress presentations to stakeholders before the software is ready for ...

Collaborative Project Management Software
Proceedings of the 35th Annual Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2003Project management (PM) principles are rapidly changing due to business globalization and information technology (IT) advances which support distributed and virtual project teams. Traditional PM focuses on a single project at a single location and is more concerned with project inputs and outputs than with the project work itself.

Software: Practice and Experience, 1978
AbstractA project is described in which the software tools of Kernighan and Plauger1 are implemented on a Burroughs B1700 computer under a non‐standard operating system. A command language interpreter similar to that of the UNIX operating system has also been implemented to provide an environment in which the tools may be used.

The Recovery of Software Projects
Annual Review in Automatic Programming, 1988The past 5 years have seen significant improvements in the management of software projects. This is evidenced by the introduction of quality management systems into software development organisations and the progress made in the certification of such systems (Ref[l,2,3]). A situation which has faced many project managers during this period has been how

Managing uncertainty in software projects
Innovations in Systems and Software Engineering, 2017Although it is impossible to predict problems that will occur in software projects, project managers can employ strategies that imbue their projects with greater resilience. Throughout a software project, a series of practices can be established to manage uncertainties. This paper proposes an approach to managing uncertainty in software projects.
