Improving carbon modeling in aspen‐dominated forests: Lessons from CBM‐CFS3 evaluation against long‐term field data

open access: yesEcological Applications, Volume 36, Issue 6, September 2026.
Abstract Boreal forests cover a substantial portion of Canada's land base and play a central role in the national carbon budget through carbon storage and fluxes across multiple above‐ and belowground pools. The Carbon Budget Model of the Canadian Forest Sector (CBM‐CFS3) simulates and projects forest carbon dynamics under varying conditions and ...

INTERNATIONAL PRICE TRANSMISSION IN THE U.S.-JAPAN SOFTWOOD TRADE [PDF]

open access: yes
This article explores the supposition that international price margins in the U.S. Pacific Northwest-Japan softwood trade are influenced by nontariff trade barriers and inelastic supplies of international transportation services.

Dual‐Functional Sulfonated Nanocellulose for Proton Exchange Membranes With High Proton Conductivity at Low Humidity

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 5, September 2026.
A scalable dual‐functional strategy yields simultaneously sulfonated and nanosized cellulose for proton exchange membranes with continuous hydrogen‐bond networks. These sustainable membranes exhibit low‐humidity proton conductivity twofold higher than Nafion 212, providing a robust solution for next‐generation fuel cells.
