Comparative Evaluation of Additives in Softwood Fractionation: Impacts on Lignin Recovery and Pulp Quality. [PDF]

Chemical lignin stabilization during acid hydrotropic fractionation is shown to distinctly influence delignification, lignin quality, and pulp performance. Phenol enhances lignin removal, while thiol‐based modifier yields light‐colored lignin, high recovery, and strong pulp.
