Efficient Direct Recycling of Spent Batteries: Integrated Lithiation and Delamination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated process for the delamination and relithiation of spent cathodes, LixNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 and LixFePO4, under open‐air conditions is proposed. The transition‐metal (Ni) oxidation state in the cathode is reduced by the oxidation of diethylene glycol, facilitating relithiation. Glycol aldehyde formation induces 100% electrode delamination.

State of Health Estimation for Lithium-Ion Batteries Based on Transition Frequency’s Impedance and Other Impedance Features with Correlation Analysis

open access: yesBatteries
This paper presents data-driven impedance-based state of health (SOH) estimation for commercial lithium-ion batteries across an SOH range of ~96% to ~60%.

Multi-layer state of health balancing control for a battery-based energy storage system to extend cycle life based on active equalization circuits

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
State of health (SoH) imbalance causes capacity waste and cycle life reduction of the battery-based energy storage systems (BESS), which demands SoH balancing control of the parallel-connected packs and the series-connected cells of the BESS.

Phase‐Resolved Dual Control of Phenol Photodissociation at the Air–Water Interface From Structure‐Resolved Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Faster phenol photolysis at the air–water interface arises from two cooperative factors: a more favorable initial microenvironment for solvent‐side electron stabilization, which lowers CI access, and a more labile hydrogen‐bond network, which more readily reorganizes to stabilize the dark‐state intermediate.

SOH Prediction of nickel-cadmium battery based on the charging time under constant voltage rise

open access: yes机车电传动, 2022
The state of health (SOH) of nickel-cadmium battery used on EMUs influences the operation safety of trains. Due to the complex working conditions of EMUs, the existing SOH monitoring methods are unable to realize good online monitoring.

Metal Battery Anode: Rich in Electrons, Rich in Problems: A Critical Review from Industrial Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Metal‐anode batteries using Li, Na, Mg, and Ca offer exceptionally high energy density, but dendrites, unstable interphases, cracking, and pore formation hinder durability and safety. This review shows how careful electrolyte and interphase design can stabilize these reactive metals.

Integrated Silicon-Organic Hybrid (SOH) Frequency Shifter [PDF]

open access: yesOptical Fiber Communication Conference, 2014
We demonstrate a waveguide-based frequency shifter on the silicon-organic hybrid (SOH) platform, enabling frequency shifts up to 10 GHz. Spurious side-modes are suppressed by more than 23 dB using temporal shaping of the drive signal.

State of Health Prediction of Lithium-Ion Batteries Based on Multi-Kernel Relevance Vector Machine and Error Compensation

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
Though lithium-ion batteries are extensively applied in electric vehicles as a power source due to their excellent advantages in recent years, the security risk has inarguably always existed.

Integration of Reconfigurable p‐Bit and 1R Crossbar Array for Memristive Probabilistic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A memristive probabilistic computing system is demonstrated by integrating stochastic p‐bits based on volatile memristors with a 1R crossbar array encoding interaction weights. The system performs weighted‐sum operations across the array and updates p‐bits iteratively.

Data-Driven State of Health Estimation of Li-Ion Batteries With RPT-Reduced Experimental Data

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In order to accurately estimate the state of health (SOH) of a Li-ion battery, a reference performance test (RPT) needs to be conducted between several charging/discharging cycles for obtaining accurate data concerning the battery capacity and ...
