A spider that decorates its web perpendicular to the web plane

open access: yesTropical Zoology, 2019
This paper examines and describes web decorating behavior by juveniles of the orb-weaving spider, Trichonephila antipodiana. Decorations consist of a three-dimensional ‘tube’ of silk line scaffolding within which detritus, prey items and moult exuviae ...

Design of step grate firing by utilizing palm empty-fruit-bunch fuel for industrial steam boiler construction

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2022
To achieve desired performance of steam boiler and low emission of hazardous air pollutants for generating electric power from palm oil industry, combustion characteristics of grate firing should be optimal for difficult biomass fuels.

Development of high-speed X-ray imaging system for SOI pixel detector [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
We are now developing new X-ray imaging system by using Silicon-On-Insulator (SOI) Pixel Detectors. The SOI detector is a monolithic radiation imaging detector based on a 0.2um FD-SOI CMOS process. Special additional process steps are also developed to create fully depleted sensing region of 50~500um thick.

Ultrafast all-optical wavelength conversion in silicon-insulator waveguides by means of cross phase modulation using 300 femtosecond pulses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we report the ultrafast all-optical wavelength conversion in Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) waveguides. We used a pump-probe setup with 300 femtosecond pulses to demonstrate large temporal phase-shifts, caused by the Kerr effect and free ...

The Effect of Temperature on the Methanogenic Activity in Relation to Micronutrient Availability

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
In the view of microbial community, thermophilic microorganisms were reported to have faster biochemical reaction rates, which are reflected by a higher methane production rate.

Gap Anisotropy in Layered Superconductors Due to Rashba and Dresselhaus Spin-Orbit Interactions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The theory of layered superconductors is extended in the presence of Rashba and Dresselhaus spin-orbit interactions (SOIs). Using the intralayer BCS-like pairing interaction and employing the Gor'kov formalism, we obtain analytical expressions for the temperature Green's functions and determine the gap function $\Delta$ which becomes complex in the ...

Lapis SOI Pixel Process [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
0.2 um fully-depleted SOI technology has been developed a for X-ray pixel detectors. To improve the detector performance, some advanced process technologies are developing continuously. To utilize the high resistivity FZ-SOI, slow ramp up and ramp down recipes are applied for the thermal processes in both of SOI wafer fabrication and pixel detector ...

Wpływ materii organicznej facelii błękitnej, pszenicy ozimej, gorczycy białej, żyta, rzepiku i soi na zdrowotność i plonowanie soi (Glycine max (L.) Merrill)

open access: yesAnnales Horticulturae, 2020
Badania przeprowadzono w latach 2000–2002. Przedmiotem badań były rośliny soi odmiany 'Polan' uprawiane po takich roślinach poplonowych, jak facelia błękitna, pszenica ozima, gorczyca biała, żyto, rzepik i soja.

Collapse of a tropical forest bird assemblage surrounding a hydroelectric reservoir

open access: yesGlobal Ecology and Conservation, 2018
Hydroelectricity is the world's largest source of ‘renewable’ energy, and deployment will expand considerably in the coming decade, with Asian countries installing the bulk of new generating capacity.

Living with human encroachment: Status and distribution of Green Peafowl in northern stronghold of Thailand

open access: yesGlobal Ecology and Conservation, 2021
Green Peafowl have declined significantly across much of their historical range mostly due to habitat loss and degradation following intensive agricultural expansion, logging and infrastructure development.
