In certain applications, signal transmit power is adjusted in discrete levels. Moreover, interference powers themselves can be discretely random. For electronic intelligence applications, the authors refer to the signal to be collected as signal of interest (SoI). Thus, for a passive receiver, the resulting instantaneous SoI‐to‐interference power ratio

Low temperature characterization of modulation doped SiGe grown on bonded silicon-on-insulator [PDF]
Modulation doped pseudomorphic Si0.87Ge0.13 strained quantum wells were grown on bonded silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrates. Comparison with similar structures grown on bulk Si(100) wafers shows that the SOI material has higher mobility at low ...

A Monolithic High‐G SOI‐MEMS Accelerometer for Measuring Projectile Launch and Flight Accelerations
Analog Devices (ADI) has designed and fabricated a monolithic high‐g acceleration sensor (ADXSTC3‐HG) fabricated with the ADI silicon‐on‐insulator micro‐electro‐mechanical system (SOI‐MEMS) process. The SOI‐MEMS sensor structure has a thickness of 10 um, allowing for the design of inertial sensors with excellent cross‐axis rejection.

Soy, Soy Phytoestrogens and Cardiovascular Disease [PDF]
Dietary soy protein has been shown to have several beneficial effects on cardiovascular health. The best-documented effect is on plasma lipid and lipoprotein concentrations, with reductions of approximately 10% in LDL cholesterol concentrations (somewhat greater for individuals with high pretreatment LDL cholesterol concentrations) and small increases ...

Take a MOOC and then drop: A systematic review of MOOC engagement pattern and dropout factor
Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) plays an important role in education equity and lifelong learning without entrance barriers, time limitations, and geographical constraints. However, MOOC is criticized by researchers for its high dropout rate.

Two‐dimensional Carrier Transport in Si MOSFETs
The importance of 2‐dimensional (2D) features of carriers in Si MOSFETs on the device performance is re‐examined experimentally and theoretically from the viewpoint of low‐field mobility, velocity in high tangential fields and the inversion‐layer capacitance. It is confirmed that low‐field mobility and inversion‐layer capacitance can be understood well
