Analysis of water vapor adsorption in soils by means of a lysimeter and numerical modeling

open access: yesVadose Zone Journal, 2020
Daily temperature oscillations can cause adsorption (and desorption) of atmospheric water vapor by soils. The resulting daily fluctuations in the amount of liquid water in the soil can be measured by high‐precision weighing lysimeters.

Study on water retention characteristics of coastal soils in Northern Zhejiang Province

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2001
The water retention characteristics of coastal soils in Zhejiang Province were studied. Results showed that water retention curves of coastal soils were a typical double-curve and the best modal to characterize the relationship between soil water content

Determination of soil-water retention curve: an artificial intelligence-based approach [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
Soil Water Retention Curve (SWRC) is a fundamental relationship in unsaturated soil mechanics, knowledge of which is essential for determining major mechanical and hydraulic properties of unsaturated soils. There are several empirical, semi-empirical and

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.
