Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Centrifuge modelling of the ground reaction curve of fibre reinforced soil [PDF]
The phenomenon known as the 'arching effect' occurs when a portion of granular mass yields relative to an adjacent stationary region. The movement is resisted by shearing stresses which act to reduce the pressure on the yielding support and increase the ...

Pile penetration in crushable soils:Insights from micromechanical modelling [PDF]
A 3D discrete element model (DEM) was used to simulate calibration chamber experiments of a cone shaped tip pile penetrating into crushable granular media. Both monotonic and cyclic jacking are considered.

Fe and P co‐doped Co9S8 nanocorals (Fe, P‐Co9S8) are successfully synthesized by a heteroatom engineering strategy, which exhibit outstanding bifunctional electrocatalytic performance for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and hydrazine oxidation reaction (HzOR).

Experimental and numerical study on the soil arching effect caused by deep-buried shield tunneling
The soil arching effect induced by deep-buried shield tunneling strongly influenced the ground stress and displacement. Therefore, revealing the evolution mechanism of the soil arching effect is a prerequisite for accurately predicting the tunnel load ...

Vertically inserted geotextile used for strengthening levees against internal erosion [PDF]
The effectiveness of a vertical inserted geotextile against internal erosion, in particular backward erosion, has been investigated. Some small- and medium-scale tests were performed as well as a field-scale test and compared with test series without any

Geosynthetic-reinforced soils above voids: Observation and prediction of soil arching
Abstract The assumption with the biggest impact on the design of geosynthetic-reinforced soils above voids is the presence and degree of soil arching, which affects the predicted applied stress on the geosynthetic. A series of centrifuge tests were conducted to investigate the soil arching in geosynthetic-reinforced soils with measurements of the ...

We demonstrate successful fabrication of high‐quality α‐Sn/β‐Sn planar nanostructures with arbitrary shapes by focused laser irradiation on topological Dirac semimetal α‐Sn thin films. The irradiated regions transform into atomically smooth, superconducting β‐Sn with a critical temperature of 3.7 K.
