Estimation of available potassium for cotton by soil analysis
Plant and Soil, 1977Measurements of exchangeable K, percentage of exchangeable K of the total exchange capacity (EPP), K extracted in a CaCl2 solution, and the change in free-energy of exchange of K for Ca+Mg (ΔF), were compared as methods for estimation of available K in soil for growing irrigated cotton.

Availability of Nonexchangeable Soil Potassium to Plants as Affected by Added Potassium and Ammonium
Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1961Abstract Undried Marshall and Clarion surface and subsoil samples were cropped in the greenhouse (short‐term cropping) to determine the effect of NH 4 and K additions on the availability of nonexchangeable soil K to corn plants. When 0, 10, 25, 50 and 100 mg. of NH

Studies on the availability of potassium in a podzol soil.
1946This investigation is concerned with the potash status of the podzolised soils of the province of Quebec, and particularly with the effects upon it, of the application of limestone and superphosphate to these soils. A Greensboro loam from the Sawyerville area in the Eastern Townships has been selected for study, partly because of the extensive area in ...

Abstract Potassium availability was determined by growing corn (Zea mays L.) in pots of soil in a controlled environment chamber. Comparison of K uptake rate per unit root area indicated differing degrees of K availability. The differences in availability among soils were not predicted by differences in cation exchange capacities.

The ability of soil tests to identify nutrient‐deficient soils and recommend fertilizer rates that optimize agronomic yield is essential for profitable soybean [ Glycine max (L.) Merr.] production. Our objectives were to correlate relative soybean yield to Mehlich‐3 and 1 mol L

The potassium status of Frodsley sandy loam and some associated soils from the Fingal district, north-eastern Tasmania, has been investigated. Regularly spaced sampling of surface soils on a rectilinear grid pattern disclosed a variability of exchangeable potassium values in the field much greater than recorded for soils elsewhere; even for 3-ft ...

Potassium availability in hydromorphic soils of eastern Croatia
Cereal Research Communications, 2005By our study 480 soil profiles were analysed which covered area of 31227 ha and they were divided in six soil types. This area was hydromeliorated in the period from 1978 to 1989. Plant availavle K was determined by Ammonium-Lactate method. One third of tested area (9989 ha or 32%) is low and moderate supplied (less than 10 mg K2O/100g).

Determination of Available Potassium in Soils of Forest Plantations
Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1958Abstract Various soil biological and chemical tests were compared in respect to their suitability for predicting deficiency of potassium for red pine grown on soils of Wisconsin and New York.

Five soil samples from Fingal, Tas., representing Frodsley sandy loam of varying exchangeable potassium status, were subjected to exhaustive cropping in pots and the changes in their potassium status and that of the crops measured. Three of the samples represented an area carrying improved pastures while two were from a less intensively managed ...
