Rainfall Shapes the Diversity of Soil Nitrogen‐Fixing Microorganisms Worldwide

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals the distinctive pattern and mechanism of rainfall driving the global biodiversity and biogeography of soil potential N‐fixing microorganisms, and constructs the theoretical framework. The results guide us on how to maintain ecosystem productivity under future climate changes (e.g., whether a specific region needs more N fertilizers ...

Contrasting Covariance Patterns of Soil-Test Phosphorus and Potassium in Routine Agricultural Soil Records

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Sciences
Routine soil analysis reports are widely generated, yet they are commonly interpreted one indicator at a time. When such records are compiled into databases, it becomes important to determine whether different soil-test indicators reflect the same ...

OsCPK12‐OsATPD1 Module Regulates Photosynthetic Acclimation to Light Stress in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
OsCPK12 interacts and phosphorylates OsAtpD1 at Ser8 in its transit peptide. This phosphorylation promote its chloroplast translocation, thereby maintaining ATP synthase activity and proton gradient (ΔpH) homeostasis and regulating photosynthetic acclimation, photoprotection, and repair under light stress.

Atmospheric Water Harvesting Through Polymer Hydrogel Sorbents: Materials Chemistry, Design Strategies, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polymer‐based hydrogels have emerged as promising materials for atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) due to their high water affinity, tunable network structure, and excellent moisture adsorption‐desorption performance. Functional hydrogel systems enable efficient water capture and controlled release under low‐energy conditions, offering a sustainable ...

EFFECT OF SOIL POTASSIUM LEVELS AND DIFFERENT POTASSIUM FERTILIZERS ON YIELD, MACROELEMENT AND CHLORIDE NUTRION STATUS OF APPLE TREES IN FULL FRUITION PERIOD

open access: yesActa Scientiarum Polonorum: Hortorum Cultus, 2011
The experiment was established in the spring 1999 on lessive soil developed from light boulder clay. Apple trees of Golden Delicious cv. on M.26 rootstock were planted in 3.5 × 1.2 m (2381 trees·ha-1) spacing. Research involved the effect of diversified

The GPX3‐VCAM1 Axis Gates Pro‐Fibrotic Tubule Cell Fate in Hyperuricemic Nephropathy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hyperuricemia induces NLRP3 inflammasome signaling activation and downregulation of GPX3 in proximal tubular epithelial cells, leading to oxidative stress–driven VCAM1 upregulation, emergence of pro‐fibrotic proximal tubule cells, macrophage recruitment, and renal fibrosis.

Soil Potassium and Its Availability to Plants

open access: yesOutlook on Agriculture, 1962
The chemistry of potassium in soil is elusive, as many factors govern release of the element from insoluble materials and its subsequent availability to plants. Advances have come with a better understanding of the behaviour of clay minerals, the finest particles of which have a major role.
