Optimal mapping of terrestrial gamma dose rates using geological parent material and aerogeophysical survey data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Regulatory authorities need ways to estimate natural terrestrial gamma radiation dose rates (nGy h−1) across the landscape accurately, to assess its potential deleterious health effects. The primary method for estimating outdoor dose rate is to use an in

Mimicking Block Copolymer Self‐Assembly with One‐Pot Synthesized Polyphosphoester Gradient Copolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Degradable Polyphosphoester (PPE) gradient copolymers (GCPs) are synthesized via one‐pot copolymerization. We show that GCPs self‐assemble into nanostructures like polymersomes, effectively mimicking the behavior of traditional BCPs. The gradient strength is key, with softer gradients favoring micelles.

NOTES ON THE INFORMATION STORED IN THE LOWER LEVELS OF THE HUNGARIAN SOIL TAXONOMY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper examines the information transfer of the units in the general purpose Hungarian soil classification in relation to land productivity evaluations. Statistical analyses of a national soil and plant production database have been applied.

Soil classification predicts differences in prokaryotic communities across a range of geographically distant soils once pH is accounted for

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Agricultural land is typically managed based on visible plant life at the expense of the belowground majority. However, microorganisms mediate processes sustaining plant life and the soil environment.

Metal–Organic Frameworks for Gaseous Pollutant Management: From Capture to Neutralization and Reutilization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review maps how MOFs can manage hazardous gases by combining adsorption, neutralization, and reutilization, enabling sustainable air‐pollution control. Covering chemical warfare agent simulants, SO2, NOx, NH3, H2S, and volatile organic compounds, it highlights structure‐guided strategies that boost selectivity, water tolerance, and cycling ...

Revised classification of the soils of Belize [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
The soil classification of Belize is revised and updated, starting from the system devised for 'Land in British Honduras' by A. C. S. Wright and his colleagues in the 1950s, the only previous country-wide survey of soils and land resources.
