Soil electromagnetic parameters as functions of frequency, soil density, and soil moisture

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1974
Measurements are made to determine the conductivity and dielectric constants of a gray clay loam and a reddish-brown clay loam. The measurements are made as a function of soil density (from 1.2 g/cm3to 1.8 g/cm3), soil moisture (from 0 percent to 20 percent of the dry soil weight), and excitation frequency (from 30 MHz to 4 GHz), using standard ...

Soil Map Density and a Nation’s Wealth and Income [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Little effort has been made to link soil mapping and soil data density to a nation’s welfare. Soil map density in 31 European countries and 44 low and middle income countries is linked to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita and the number of soil scientists per country.

Density of the Lunar Soil

Nature, 1967
PREVIOUS models of the lunar surface layer have necessarily been constructed on the basis of indirect evidence, such as the way in which the surface reflected sunlight and radar pulses, or the manner in which it cooled during an eclipse. The photometric properties, in particular, have been utilized in model construction, because they were considered to

Critical Flotation Density of Pipelines in Soils Liquefied by Waves and Density of Liquefied Soils

Journal of Waterway, Port, Coastal, and Ocean Engineering, 2006
This paper summarizes the results of an experimental and theoretical investigation of: (1) pipeline flotation in a soil (liquefied under waves); and (2) density of the liquefied soil. In the experiments, the soil was silt with d50 =0.078 mm . Pipeline models of 2 cm diameter were used.
