Persistence of Terbutryn and Atrazine in Soil as Affected by Soil Disinfestation and Fungicides
The effect of soil disinfestation with methyl bromide (MB) or by soil solarization (solar heating) and the fungicides TMTD (tetramethylthiuram disulfide) and fentin acetate (triphenyltin acetate) on the degradation of terbutryn [2-(tert-butylamino)-4 ...

Commodity risk assessment of oak and walnut logs from the US
Abstract The European Commission submitted to the EFSA Panel on Plant Health a Dossier from the United States proposing the use of a vacuum–steam–heat treatment as a stand‐alone phytosanitary measure to mitigate the risk of entry of Bretziella fagacearum, Geosmithia morbida and its vector Pityophthorus juglandis (thousand cankers disease complex) into ...

Valorizing Fresh-Cut Lettuce Quality Following Sustainable Soil Disinfestation Practices
Fresh lettuce is a key ingredient in ready-to-eat salads that are considered a valued dietary choice. Lettuce quality is strongly influenced by soil management practices, particularly in sustainable farming systems.

Farming System and Nematodes Affect the Rhizosphere Microbiome of Tropical Banana Plants
The banana crops showed a core microbiome of 77 ASV, mostly belonging to Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, and Bacilli. Specific groups of bacteria and fungi were linked to each nematode species or feeding group, with a core microbiome of correlated taxa found only when considering nematodes by feeding groups.

Integration of Steam with Allyl-isothiocyanate for Soil Disinfestation
Steam has long been used to disinfest greenhouse soils. However, there is increasing interest in expanding the use of steam for in-field soil disinfestation as an alternative to chemical fumigants. Previous studies demonstrated that allyl-isothiocyanate (
