Enantioselective effects of metalaxyl on soil enzyme activity

Chirality, 2016
AbstractThe enantioselective effects of the chiral pesticide metalaxyl on soil enzyme activity were investigated. Incubation experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of metalaxyl enantiomers at different concentrations on the activities of urease, invertase, and catalase as well as the type of activity change (activation vs. inhibition) at

Effect of Pretilachlor on Soil Enzyme Activities in Tropical Rice Soil

Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2016
Pretilachlor treatments, namely, recommended dose at 600 g a.i. ha-1 (RD), double the recommended dose at 1200 g a.i. ha-1 (2RD), ten times of the recommended dose at 6000 g a.i. ha-1 (10RD) along with control, were used to study the effects of pretilachlor on soil enzymes in tropical rice soil.

Soil Enzyme Activities and Soil Fertility Dynamics

2012
Soil fertility dynamics have been an interesting area in unravelling the diverse complexities involved with dynamic soil-plant relationship. Soil enzymes have been proven as the sensor against minutest edaphic, microbiological and biochemical changes in addition to soil contamination, often called nutrient cycling either as a result of intrinsic ...

Variations of soil enzyme activities in a temperate forest soil

Ecological Research, 2009
Abstract Soil enzyme activities (dehydrogenase, urease, phosphatase, and arylsulfatase) in a temperate forest soil were determined in relation to landscape position and seasons. Overstory of the area is dominated by Quercus mongolica , Kalopanax pictus

Influence of boscalid on the activities of soil enzymes and soil respiration

European Journal of Soil Biology, 2014
Using fluorimetric microplate enzyme assay, the effects of a novel fungicide, boscalid, on the activities of the four soil enzymes related directly to the C-cycling and P-cycling were investigated thoroughly over a period of 60 days. The results suggested that 10–200 mg kg−1 boscalid significantly inhibited phosphatase activity during the whole course ...

Effects of perchloroethylene soil pollution on soil enzyme activities

2011 International Conference on Electric Technology and Civil Engineering (ICETCE), 2011
Simulated experiments were conducted to study the eco-toxicology effects of perchloroethylene (PCE) pollutant on three main soil enzyme activities: protease, urease and catalase. The results showed that, increasing the initial PCE concentration resulted in higher inhibition effect on both protease and urease activities.

Bacterial communities and enzyme activities of PAHs polluted soils

Chemosphere, 2004
Three soils (i.e. a Belgian soil, B-BT, a German soil, G, and an Italian agricultural soil, I-BT) with different properties and hydrocarbon-pollution history with regard to their potential to degrade phenanthrene were investigated. A chemical and microbiological evaluation of soils was done using measurements of routine chemical properties, bacterial ...

Effects of Tetrabromobisphenol A on enzyme activity in soil

2011 International Conference on Remote Sensing, Environment and Transportation Engineering, 2011
Tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) is widely used throughout the world as flame retardant for electronic equipment or building materials, and is detected in air at the dismantling plant, sewage sludge, sediment or human serum samples. In the present study, we examined the effects of TBBPA on soil polyphenol oxidase, catalase and dehydrogenase activity by ...

Organo-Mineral–Enzyme Interaction and Soil Enzyme Activity

2010
Although we have come to know a great deal about the structure and function of enzymes for biomedical and industrial applications, much about the “real” properties of extracellular enzymes in the soil environment remains unknown due to their complex associations with soil organic matter (OM) and minerals.
