Estimation of regional evapotranspiration through remote sensing

open access: yes, 1999
Models used for the remote estimation of evapotranspiration are evaluated using aircraft observations over two distinct vegetation regimes in southwestern Australia.

Bionic Solar‐Powered Heavy Metal Trap for Eco‐Friendly Sludge Drying and Simultaneous Electricity Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein, we propose a solar‐powered heavy metal trap (SPHT) for sludge disposal. The indoor experiments demonstrated that the sludge water content decreased from 90 % to 31 %, coupled with a decrease in heavy metal content to 6 % at most. Furthermore, the designed SPHT generated an initial potential of 0.10 V, and monitoring this hydrovoltaic potential ...

Fluxes of Energy and Water Vapour from Grazed Pasture on a Mineral Soil in the Waikato

open access: yes, 2009
The eddy covariance (EC) technique was used to measure half hourly fluxes of energy and evaporation from 15 December 2007 to 30 November 2008 at the Scott Research Farm, located 7 km east of Hamilton.

Simulated Analysis of Soil Heat Flux Using Temperature Deviation Curve Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Soil heat flux have shown prospects for researchers not only in the agricultural and infrastructure standpoint but also in the health sector. The temperature curve model was applied to determine the soil heat flux from a given data of soil temperature.

MECHANISMS AND RELATIONSHIP TO SOIL MOISTURE OF SURFACE LATENT HEAT FLUX ANOMALY BEFORE INLAND EARTHQUAKES

open access: yes, 2012
The anomaly of SLHF, which is a key component of the Earth's energy balance and represents the heat flux from the Earth's surface to the atmosphere associated with evaporation or transpiration of water on the surface and subsequent condensation of water ...

Evaluating Soil Resistance Formulations in Thermal‐Based Two‐Source Energy Balance (TSEB) Model: Implications for Heterogeneous Semiarid and Arid Regions

open access: yesWater Resources Research, 2019
Relatively small fluctuations in the surface energy balance and evapotranspiration in semiarid and arid regions can be indicative of significant changes to ecosystem health.

NLSS3 Impairs SHM1 Autophagic Degradation to Regulate Leaf Morphology and Salt Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In rice, NLSS3 binds and shields SHM1 from autophagic degradation to maintain serine homeostasis. The A132P mutation in nlss3 disrupts this, triggering SHM1 loss, metabolic dysfunction, K+ imbalance, and impaired ROS scavenging, which collectively drive narrow leaves and salt sensitivity.

Calculated and field-measured soil heat flux : a comparison under two soil water regimes

open access: yes
Heat and water vapor flow in summer-fallowed fields in the Pacific Northwest may significantly affect the position and supply of water for germination of fall sown crops. New tillage tools and drill openers used in reduced tillage systems leave a trashy,

Carbon dioxide losses from terrestrial organic matter resulting from photodegradation and microbial respiration

open access: yes, 2010
Losses of soil organic matter (SOM) can lead to a decrease in soil quality, cause an increase in CO₂ emissions, thereby contributing to a rise in atmospheric CO₂ concentration, which in turn can affect the global climate.
