Horizontal heat flux between urban buildings and soil and its influencing factors
The soil temperature near four external walls with different orientations was investigated in spring and summer. In both seasons, the soil temperature was higher in the positions closest to the buildings, suggesting that the buildings were a heat source ...

Soil water flux is an important parameter in studies of runoff, infiltration, groundwater recharge, and subsurface chemical transport. Heat pulse sensors have been proposed as promising tools for measuring soil water fluxes. To date, heat pulse methods have required cumbersome mathematical analyses to calculate soil water flux from the measured data ...

Liquid Jetting‐Based Miniature Robotic Navigation in Confined Fluidic Spaces
We introduce a new class of liquid‐jetting‐based miniature robots (JetBots) ranging in size from mm‐to‐cm, featuring a unified approach in design, fabrication, and actuation. They demonstrate fast locomotion (30.3 cm/s), rapid steering (648.8°/s), and diverse functions, such as puncturing soft materials and unlimited cargo sampling and delivery, paving

An agentic AI‐driven decision‐support framework for prosumers is proposed, integrating PV generation, load profiling, and multihorizon optimization within a four‐agent architecture. The approach significantly reduces grid dependence, enhances self‐sufficiency and prevents system oversizing.

Abstract Germany's Renewable Energy Sources Act (REA), enacted in 2000 and subsequently amended, subsidized national renewable energy production with fixed feed‐in tariffs for renewable energy sources (RE) from wind, solar, and biogas. Empirical studies suggest that the policy was creating windfall effects for landowners and attribute farmland use ...

Continuous monitoring of heat flux from steam heated soils of Etna
We present soil temperature data from a peripheral fumarole emission of Mt Etna at the top end of a radial fracture called Bottoniera. This area lies in the northern flank of the volcano (2,500m a.s.l.), and was interested by fissure eruption during 2002/2003.
