Transposase‐Assisted Donor Tethering Boosts Large‐Fragment HDR in Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A transposase‐assisted donor tethering strategy is developed to enhance homology‐directed repair in plants. By recruiting donor DNA to double‐strand breaks and synergizing with repair pathway reprogramming and transcription‐coupled donor design, this system markedly improves large‐fragment targeted insertion efficiency, providing a robust platform for ...

Effects of sustanaible soil management on soil quality

open access: yes, 2010
The declining of soil fertility due to intensive agriculture represents the main constraint to agricultural productivity. Sustainability of agriculture may be threatened by the progressive reduction of soil organic matter without adequate restoration ...

Ecotoxicity of Herbicides on Nitrosomonas sp and Nitrobacter sp in Soil

open access: yes
Aim: This study aimed to predict the toxic effects of herbicides on non-target organisms within the ecosystem, employing soil microflora (Nitrosomonas sp and Nitrobacter sp) as indicators to monitor ecosystem responses to these substances. Place of Study:

NLSS3 Impairs SHM1 Autophagic Degradation to Regulate Leaf Morphology and Salt Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In rice, NLSS3 binds and shields SHM1 from autophagic degradation to maintain serine homeostasis. The A132P mutation in nlss3 disrupts this, triggering SHM1 loss, metabolic dysfunction, K+ imbalance, and impaired ROS scavenging, which collectively drive narrow leaves and salt sensitivity.

Histone Modification Complex JMJ704‐HDA709 Negatively Regulates Salinity Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the rice histone demethylase JMJ704 interacts with HDA709―a H3K9ac deacetylase characterized herein―to form a chromatin‐modifying complex. Under salt stress, OsWRKY72 recruits this complex through interaction with JMJ704 to target loci, repressing the expression of oxidative stress and salt‐responsive genes via removal of ...

The effect of freeze-thaw cycles on soil respiration and nitrogen dynamics as in-fluenced by soil structure, aggregate size and water content

open access: yes, 2020
The role of soil structure and aggregation in influencing soil respiration and N dynamics in soils undergoing freeze-thaw cycles, as influenced by water content, is poorly known. Surface soil with a texture of sandy loam was collected from an agriculture

An investigation into wetland soil-implement mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
An investigation was initiated to obtain some understanding on the behaviour of soil at higher moisture content and to explore the potential of preparing paddy fields with reduced amounts of water.

Natural convection and the evolution of a reactive porous medium

open access: yes, 2011
We describe a mathematical model of buoyancy-driven flow and solute transport in a saturated porous medium, the porosity and permeability of which evolve through precipitation and dissolution as a mineral is lost or gained from the pore fluid. Imposing a

Effects of Herbaceous Root Growth on Soil Resistance to Erosion under Different Planting Densities

open access: yesShuitu Baochi Xuebao
[Objective] To explore the effects of roots on soil consolidation and erosion reduction under different planting densities. [Methods] Typical herbaceous plants, including ryegrass (Lolium perenne) and alfalfa (Medicago sativa) on the Loess Plateau were ...

Adsorption of Forever Chemical Pollutants: The Physical Chemistry of PFAS Near Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current adsorption‐based remediation techniques for removing per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from water are limited by knowledge gaps on PFAS behavior near solid surfaces. This review provides a state of the art on theoretical and experimental aspects of PFAS adsorption.
