Molecular Engineering Mediated Interfacial Assembly as an Artificial Extracellular Matrix Remolds Bacteria With Enhanced Abiotic Resilience

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic artificial extracellular matrix is assembled directly on Pseudomonas fluorescens by co‐assembling amyloid‐like lysozyme and alginate at the cell surface. This conformal nanocoating acts as both a hydration buffer and a physiological priming layer, markedly enhancing desiccation tolerance, seed adhesion, storage stability, and biocontrol ...

Thermally Processable, Transparent, Mechanically Tunable and Robust Bioplastics From Wastepaper

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Unlike conventional inefficient or low‐value wastepaper recycling, a directional transformation strategy is employed to convert whole wastepaper into intact bioplastics with tunable mechanical properties in our work. These bioplastics can be processed into flexible bags or rigid containers and exhibit high transparency, water resistance, repairability,

IMPACTS OF BURNING ON CHEMICAL, PHYSICAL AND BIOLOGICAL ATTRIBUTES OF SOIL

open access: yes, 2011
The objective of this study was to verify through literature review the possible impacts of the use of fire on the physical, chemical and biological attributes of soil. In relation to physical attributes, the fire may cause a decrease in the volume of macropores, the size of aggregates, the rate of infiltration of water into the soil and consequently ...

Closed‐Loop Radiative Cooling Mulch Upcycled From Agricultural Residues for Efficient Soil Heat–Water Stress Mitigation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conventional passive radiative cooling films rely on costly feedstocks and energy‐intensive fabrication, with poor end‐of‐life compatibility in agriculture. To address this challenge, a sustainable radiative cooling mulch (SRCM) is developed from waste maize leaves via spontaneous hydrogen‐bond self‐assembly.

The Spatiotemporal Genetic Architecture of Seed Vigor in Upland Cotton

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Leveraging the semi‐automated SeedRanger platform, we profiled the germination kinetics of 356 cotton accessions at a 30‐min interval. This high‐throughput phenomic approach delineated a temporal genetic network comprising 541 stage‐specific loci. Crucially, functional validation identified FLA2 as a pivotal, auxin‐modulated regulator that orchestrates

Stiffness‐Activated Stellate Cells Drive Pancreatic Cancer Liver Colonization via GMFG‐TNS4 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fibrotic liver stiffness activates hepatic stellate cells through Piezo1‐dependent calcium influx and ER stress, promoting EV‐associated GMFG release. Delivered GMFG engages TNS4 in pancreatic cancer cells, triggering FAK/AKT signaling, adhesion, and fatty acid synthesis.

Hyperspectral remote sensing as an alternative to estimate soil attributes

open access: yesRevista Ciência Agronômica
Minimizing environmental impacts and increasing crop productivity depend mainly on the knowledge of chemical, physical and mineralogical characteristics of the soil attributes. However, traditional methods are timeconsuming and costly.

Natural Variation of COLD and CATECHINS REGULATOR 1 Coordinately Fine‐Tunes Cold Tolerance and Tea Quality in Tea Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐trait genome‐wide association mapping identifies a central hub regulator, COLD AND CATECHINS REGULATOR 1 (CCR1), and its excellent natural allele variation, coordinately enhancing cold tolerance and promoting catechins biosyntheis. CsCCR1 interacts with CsCBF1/3 and is transcriptionally activated by CsLUX and CsKUA1 to promote catechins ...

ATRIBUTOS FÍSICOS E QUÍMICOS DE UM NEOSSOLO QUARTZARÊNICO SOB DIFERENTES SISTEMAS DE USO E MANEJO

open access: yesRevista Caatinga, 2015
The removal of the original vegetation and deployment of crops, combined with inadequate management practices, usually cause the deterioration of the physical and chemical quality of the soil.
