We explore the possibility of measuring a continuously variable soil moisture profile by inversion of a ground penetrating radar (GPR) signal. Synthetic experiments were conducted to demonstrate the well-posedness of the inverse problem for the specific ...

When a master transcription factor (TF) is lost, bacteria can rapidly rewire gene regulatory networks by co‐opting related regulators. Using experimental evolution in Pseudomonas fluorescens, we show that TF promiscuity (low‐level, non‐cognate binding) provides the raw material for rewiring. Successful co‐option follows a predictable hierarchy governed

Cambodia has an old national soil map and a more recent map of rice soils, but little is known about soil distribution and properties in the uplands. Such soil information is needed to support moves towards crop diversification in Cambodia in particular ...

The evaluation of the soil pressure distribution and carcass stiffness resulting from pneumatic agricultural tyres [PDF]
Introducing loads onto the soil via pneumatic tyred equipment is the major cause of compaction of agricultural soils, which causes damage to the soil-water-air-plant system.

Field-scale validation of an automated soil nitrate extraction and measurement system
One of the many gaps that needs to be solved by precision agriculture technologies is the availability of an economic, automated, on-the-go mapping system that can be used to obtain intensive and accurate ‘real-time’ data on the levels of nitrate ...

PEDO–EXCEL: A Simple Excel Tool/Database to Prepare and Elaborate Soil Profile Data [PDF]
Soil investigations in pedology are often made of four different stages: a) preliminary stage, b) on-field soil research, c) laboratory (analytical) research and d) data elaboration.

This study constructed the first spatiotemporal multi‐omics map of peach fruit and discovered a key candidate gene that synergistically regulates trichome development and drought tolerance through the jasmonic acid signaling pathway, providing insights into the coupling mechanism between development and stress resistance.

Redox‐Dependent Chaperoning of GBF1 Condensates Regulates Seed Germination in Arabidopsis
In dormant seeds (low ROS), GBF1 forms liquid condensates to repress the germination gene CathB3, and the chaperone GIP1 maintains condensate liquidity and repressive activity. Upon imbibition (high ROS), ROS oxidize GIP1 during germination, impairing its chaperone function.

Natural Variation of NAR5 Determines Nitrogenase Activity and the Yield in Soybean
This study identified NAR5, a gene encoding a subtilisin‐like protease, that regulates nitrogenase activity in soybean nodules. Overexpressing NAR5 delayed nodule senescence, enhancing nitrogenase activity, yield, and low‐nitrogen tolerance. The elite haplotype NAR5HapI‐1 linked to superior nitrogenase activity and greater seed weight has been ...

Морфогенетична и химична оценка на почви, третирани с утайка от Софийската пречиствателна станция
Soils from the South-West of the Kremikovtsi terrain were studied in 2010. A soil profile from an arable land (fallow) treated with 4.2 t/da sludge from the Sofia Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) and another control profile – untreated with sludge ...
