Carbofuran degradation in soil profiles

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B, 1997
Two soils, Puyallup fine sandy loam from Puyallup, WA, and Ellzey fine sand from Hastings, FL, each with a prior history of carbofuran exposure but with different pedological and climatological characteristics, were found to exhibit enhanced degradation toward carbofuran in surface and subsurface soil layers.

Characterisation of Soil Profile Roughness

Biosystems Engineering, 2005
By using a laser profiler, the surface height variation trace of three types of tillage soil profiles, that is ploughed, harrowed and rolled surface, are obtained. In order to acquire the different direction profiles of every tillage type, the profiles at 0 (parallel), 45 and 90 (perpendicular) degrees with respect to the tillage direction are measured.

Vertical profile of 137Cs in soil

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2004
In this paper, a vertical distribution of 137Cs in undisturbed soil was investigated experimentally and theoretically. Soil samples were taken from the surroundings of the city of Kragujevac in central Serbia during spring-summer of 2001. The sampling locations were chosen in such a way that the influence of soil characteristics on depth distribution ...

Soil Profile Classes

2018
The previous chapter discussed the possibility of using pedometric techniques to make numerical classifications of soil material and soil layers. Of course it is not a step too far to use pedometric techniques to make classifications of entire profiles also. That is the subject of this chapter.

Drainage of Soil Profiles

Journal of the Irrigation and Drainage Division, 1971
The scaled approximations of Brooks and Corey for water content versus capillary pressure and capillary conductivity versus water content were used to obtain a scalded diffusion function that was dependent only upon the pore-size distribution index, λ. A predictor-corrector finite difference scheme was used to obtain numerical solutions for the scaled ...

Soil profile recorder: A program to enable the recording of soil profile descriptions in the field

Computers & Geosciences, 1986
Abstract Soil survey organizations are making increasing use of soil information systems, and sophisticated storage, retrieval, and display methods have been devised. The data-entry stage, however, may be a major bottleneck in the working of the information system.

Bullet on bullet fragmentation profile in soils

Journal of Environmental Management, 2014
Lead-antimony alloy slugs encased in a brass jackets are common small arms caliber ammunition used for training and target practice. When small caliber ammunition is fired at testing and training ranges, these metals--some of which are toxic--are introduced into the environment.

Soil fungistasis with respect to pH and profile

Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1969
Soil fungistatic activity was determined in different soils using the sterile cellophane–agar diffusion method. Comparing 35 soil samples from eight profiles, the inhibitory effect on Trichoderma koningi was found to increase with increasing soil pH irrespective of the depth at which the soil samples were taken. The fungistatic principle of seven soils

Soil Profiling and Management

"The edited book comprises of eighteen chapters, with an equal emphasis given to the discussion of various items related to soil science in all of the chapters. This has been done keeping in mind the needs of students, scientists, plant nutritionists, and other individuals who are interested in studying soil science and soil health.
