Carbofuran degradation in soil profiles
Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B, 1997Two soils, Puyallup fine sandy loam from Puyallup, WA, and Ellzey fine sand from Hastings, FL, each with a prior history of carbofuran exposure but with different pedological and climatological characteristics, were found to exhibit enhanced degradation toward carbofuran in surface and subsurface soil layers.

Characterisation of Soil Profile Roughness
Biosystems Engineering, 2005By using a laser profiler, the surface height variation trace of three types of tillage soil profiles, that is ploughed, harrowed and rolled surface, are obtained. In order to acquire the different direction profiles of every tillage type, the profiles at 0 (parallel), 45 and 90 (perpendicular) degrees with respect to the tillage direction are measured.

Vertical profile of 137Cs in soil
Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2004In this paper, a vertical distribution of 137Cs in undisturbed soil was investigated experimentally and theoretically. Soil samples were taken from the surroundings of the city of Kragujevac in central Serbia during spring-summer of 2001. The sampling locations were chosen in such a way that the influence of soil characteristics on depth distribution ...

Science of the Total Environment, 2019
The effects of long-term animal manure application and crop straw incorporation on the migration of carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) deep into the soil profile and the associated N leaching risk in particular have not been thoroughly elucidated to date.

Soil acidification of the soil profile across Chengdu Plain of China from the 1980s to 2010s.
Science of the Total Environment, 2019Soil acidification is a major environmental issue associated with intensive agricultural land use. Rapid urbanization has inevitably caused great changes in agricultural land use around urban areas.

Land Degradation and Development, 2019
The properties of soil organic carbon (SOC) required for carbon sequestration and nutrient availability are contradictory, and the changes in SOC caused by agricultural land use changes remain elusive.

Fungi and bacteria respond differently to changing environmental conditions within a soil profile
Soil Biology and Biochemistry, 2019Contrasting environmental conditions in topsoil and subsoil determine both abundance and function of soil microbial communities, affecting carbon (C) dynamics throughout the entire soil profile.

How qualitative spectral information can improve soil profile classification?
Journal of Near Infrared Spectroscopy, 2019Soil classification is important to organize the knowledge of soil characteristics. Spectroscopy has increased in the last years as a technique for descriptive and quantitative evaluation of soils.
