Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Finite Element Modelling of geogrids in stabilisation function - Comparison study [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Finite element methods (FEM) are commonly used in geotechnical designs. These methods become particularly valuable when complex multistage scenarios with a variety of interactions need to be considered.

Investigation of Pindan soil modified with polymer stablisers for road pavement

open access: yesJournal of Infrastructure Preservation and Resilience, 2020
Road failures are often caused by structural weaknesses, and particularly unsealed roads are vulnerable to water as water easily flows into road structures.

Stabilising urea nitrogen enhances flowering, nitrogen use efficiency, and growth habit for stress tolerance in ornamental plants [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Horticulture and Postharvest Research, 2019
Purpose: Supplying plants with nitrogen in ammonium nitrate- or urea-based fertiliser is wasteful: much is degraded before acquisition, releasing environmental pollutants.

Influence of Carbon Nanoparticles on Electrically Induced Wear of Grease‐Lubricated Steels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
When an electric current enters a pair of rubbing surfaces, enormous damage takes place. In this research, how such damage occurs in the presence of protective grease and the mitigation with added carbon nanoparticles, were investigated. It was discovered that those particles regulate transport and interfacial electrical stability of the grease ...

Parallel Electrical Integration of Photo Bio Electrochemical Systems (photo‐BESs): Performance Gains and Load Dependency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Parallel wiring of bioelectrochemical devices with conventional generators unexpectedly boosts output. A biophotovoltaic paired with a solar cell delivers up to 50% more power at low loads than their separate contributions; a plant microbial fuel cell shows similar current gains.
