SOIL STABILIZATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF MARINE CLAYS USING CEMENT AND LIME IN A MARSHLAND [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering Heritage Journal, 2020
This study assesses the stabilization of marine clay soil using cement and lime to improve on the subgrade material. The tests conducted include: the natural moisture content, specific gravity, sieve analysis, Atterberg limit, compaction and California ...

Stabilization of A Residual Soil

open access: yesSoils and Foundations, 1992
ABSTRACT Residual granite soil occurs extensively in peninsular Malaysia. The soil has been commonly used for construction of airfields and road embankments. This paper describes the stabilization of the residual soil by adding a cementive stabilizing agent and an additive to improve the engineering properties of the soil for the above applications ...

Perbaikan Tanah Dasar Jalan Tol Semarang – Demak Menggunakan Bahan Aditif Dan Perkuatan Kolom Stabilisasi

open access: yesRekayasa Sipil, 2018
In Semarang there is often a flood of sea water that swamp the road. This happens because the ground is lower than the water level, load-carrying capacity is deficient. Following up on this, a new road network is needed as a toll road.

Analysis of changes and influencing factors of stablization treatment effects and bioavailability after freeze-thaw: a case study of Pb-contaminated soil in a non-ferrous metal factory in Northeast China

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
IntroductionSolidification/Stabilization techniques are commonly used for the containment and isolation of Pb-contaminated soil, but they cannot reduce the amount of contaminants.

Transcripts enriched in codons that trigger P‐site tRNA‐mediated mRNA decay possess stable mRNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
PTMD codons were first described by Mendel et al. as mediators of an mRNA decay pathway dependent on the human protein CNOT3, homologous to yeast Not5. Our findings confirm that PTMD codons destabilize transcripts; however, unlike in yeast, the human pathway specifically targets and slightly destabilizes primarily stable mRNAs.

Chemical stabilization techniques for clay soil: A comprehensive review

open access: yesJournal of the Mechanical Behavior of Materials
The instability of clay soil as a road subgrade due to its high shrinkage properties, results in frequent road damage. Therefore, adequate soil improvement is required to improve soil performance in order to satisfy post-construction stabilization ...

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Aggregate-Size Stability Distribution and Soil Stability

open access: yesSoil Science Society of America Journal, 2004
A new theoretical and experimental framework that permits an accurate determination of aggregate‐size stability distribution is presented. The size‐stability distribution in addition to estimating aggregate‐size distribution distinguishes between amounts of stable and unstable macroaggregates (>250 μm).

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.
