Entomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, EarlyView.We studied predatory soil mites that control the thrips Frankliniella occidentalis. Thrips densities were significantly reduced by the predator Cosmolaelaps sabelisi. It presumably feeds on prepupae and pupae in the soil and on larvae aboveground.

Insect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.While roadside verges might have potential as connecting corridors for grassland habitats and their inhabitants, roadside mowing negatively impacts grassland arthropod densities. In contrast to unmown refuges, all mowing techniques harmed grassland arthropods, with no significant differences between mowing equipment.
