Nanocellulose Alleviates Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy via Gut Microbiota‐Mediated Bile Acid Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.

The influence of suction changes on the stiffness of railway formation

open access: yes, 2011
Despite compacted soils being unsaturated, geotechnical design is predominantly based on saturated soils, despite it being known that differences exist between the behaviour of saturated and unsaturated soils.Suction in soils has been shown to increase ...

Evaluation of Soil-Water Characteristic Curve and Pore-Size Distribution of Fine-Grained Soils

open access: yes, 2022
A soil’s physical properties, mineral types, and pore structure significantly influence the shape and properties of the soil-water characteristic curve (SWCC).

Relationship between soil - water characteristic curve and permeability of soil

open access: yes, 2012
Soil – water characteristic curve is an important property that controls behavior of soil such as permeability. A theoretical model for predicting soil – water characteristic curve during drying and wetting processes is developed and verified with ...

Predicting the Soil Moisture Characteristic Curve from Practicle Size Distribution witb a Simple Conceptual Model

open access: yes, 2011
Indirect methods for predicting the soil moisture characteristic curve (SMC) from the particle size distribution (PSD) often rely on empirical coefficients, which limits their applicability to independent data sets.

Integration of Spatiotemporal Multi‐Omics in Peach Fruit Unravels a Metabolic Niche and the Genetic Basis of Trichome‐Mediated Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the first spatiotemporal multi‐omics map of peach fruit and discovered a key candidate gene that synergistically regulates trichome development and drought tolerance through the jasmonic acid signaling pathway, providing insights into the coupling mechanism between development and stress resistance.

Assessment of the impact of climate change on an instrumented embankment: an unsaturated soil mechanics approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Climate change has the potential to affect any transportation network that comprises embankments and cuttings built with soil material in an unsaturated state that is exposed to the climate.
