Assessing Water Infiltration and Soil Water Repellency in Brazilian Atlantic Forest Soils [PDF]
This study presents the results of the soil hydraulic characterization performed under three land covers, namely pasture, 9-year-old restored forest, and remnant forest, in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. Two types of infiltration tests were performed, namely tension (Mini-Disk Infiltrometer, MDI) and ponding (Beerkan) tests.

The pesticidal potential of Agave angustifolia by assessing its anti‐nematic, antimicrobial, and insecticidal activities, alongside phytochemical profiling. ABSTRACT Plant diseases caused by fungi, bacteria, nematodes, and viruses contribute significantly to annual crop losses and economic hardship. Reliance on chemical pesticides, over a thousand used

Generalist‐pollinated Arabis alpina exhibits floral scent variation at multiple scales
Plants that depend on animals for reproduction often use complex floral traits to attract pollinators. Floral scent is recognized as part of the pollinator attraction module and can be shaped by plant‐pollinator interactions. In recent decades, research has started to reveal the dynamic properties of floral scent, identifying patterns of spatial and ...

Wettability decay in an oil-contaminated waste-mineral mixture with dry-wet cycles [PDF]
The dependency of soil particle wettability on soil water content implies that soils subjected to drying-wetting cycles become wettable with wetting and water repellent with drying.

An overview and categorization of man‐made per‐ or polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) including low‐molar‐mass and high‐molar‐mass fluorochemicals, and their international regulations is presented. Though certain PFASs are toxic, bioaccumulative and cross the human cellular membranes, others, such as fluoropolymers, are safe, reliable and involved in ...

Persistence of water repellency in coarse-textured soils under various types of forests in NW Spain
The primary purpose of this work was to assess the persistence of water repellency in the surface horizon of coarse-textured soils under natural Quercus robur ecosystems, and Pinus pinaster and Eucalyptus globulus plantations, in the northwest of the ...
