Ratiometric Mycotoxin Detection in Living Plants With Dual‐Emissive Nanosensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A minimally invasive microneedle patch integrates carbon dot‐embedded metal–organic frameworks as nanosensors to detect a key fungal toxin in living plants. The nanosensor produces a ratiometric fluorescence signal that enables early, non‐destructive diagnosis of fungal infection before visible symptoms, offering a new biomaterials‐based strategy for ...

Agar‐Based Optical Sensing System With a Phosphorescent Grid Pattern for Measuring Stress Distributions of Root Growth Using the Sampling Moiré Method

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This paper presents an agar medium with a phosphorescent grid pattern that measures the stress distribution generated by growing plant roots. Using phosphorescence, the system optically separates the grid pattern from the root and extracts the grid deformation.

Role of the Soil Mineralogy on the Temperature Dependence of the Water Retention Curve

open access: yes, 2012
This paper presents experimental results of water retention curves of a compacted clay silt at different temperature. For limited suction values (up to 220 kPa), the results show a significant effect of the temperature variation (from 22°C to 50°C) on the water content at constant suction.
