Assessment of Soil Water Thermodynamic to Unify Water Retention Curve by Pressure Plates and Tensiometer

2023
In soil science, there are two well-known standard methods for measuring the soil moisture characteristic curve: the pressure plate method providing the pF curve and the tensiometer providing the soil suction pressure curve. These two empirical curves are generally used for characterizing and modeling the soil water properties.

Complexation of DTPA and EDTA with Cd2+: stability constants and thermodynamic parameters at the soil-water interface

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 2016
Two alkaline soils collected from the surface horizon (0-15 cm) of two agricultural fields Lakshmikantapur (LKP; 22° 06' 03″ N and 88° 18' 19″ E) and Diamond Harbour (DHB; 22° 11' N and 88° 14' E) of West Bengal, India were studied to observe the stability of cadmium (Cd) chelate complexes with diethylenetriaminepentaacetatic acid (DTPA) and ...

About Thermodynamic Theory of Water Retention Capacity and Dispersity of Soils

Eurasian Soil Science, 2018
On the basis of thermodynamic concept on competitive interphase interactions, the idea is forwarded about the ionic-electrostatic mechanism of water retention capacity and aggregative stability of fine solid particles in soil physical systems. The author applies modern data on the nanostructure of colloidal disperse complex of soil physical systems in ...
