Microfabricated glucose biosensor with glucose oxidase entrapped in sol–gel matrix

Talanta, 1998
A microfabricated glucose biosensor based on an amperometeric hydrogen peroxide electrode has been developed. A sol-gel layer with 5 A pore size and 2 mum thickness was used as the glucose oxidase entrapping matrix. The sol-gel matrix formed over the silicon-based sensor has good mechanical and chemical stability, and the ability to entrap a large ...

Sol–gel encapsulation of lactate dehydrogenase for optical sensing of ?-lactate

Biosensors and Bioelectronics, 2002
Sol-gel encapsulation of lactate dehydrogenase and its cofactor can be employed as a disposable sensor for L-lactate. The sensor utilized the changes in absorbance or fluorescence from the reduced cofactor nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) upon exposure to L-lactate.

Cyclodextrin-modified biosensors: comparision of cyclodextrin-linked ferrocenes as mediators in sol–gel and screen-printed formats for sensing acetylcholine

The Analyst, 2001
This work reports the comparison of a sol-gel and a screen-printed biosensor format using new mediators and a sensitive thin-film (ref. 1: P. Kataky and D. Parker, Analyst, 1996, 121, 1829) to enhance the sensitivity and stability of biosensors. The new mediators were per-alkylated cyclodextrin linked ferrocenes and a control, ferrocene aminocarboxylic

Proton conducting Ba3Ca1.18Nb1.82O8.73/H2O: Sol–gel preparation and pressure/composition isotherms

Solid State Ionics, 1998
Abstract Thin films of Ba 3 Ca 1.18 Nb 1.82 O 8.73 , prepared in a sol–gel process by multiple dip-coating on silicon wafers, were charged with hydrogen by dissociative water absorption at definite values of water vapour pressures and temperatures. The hydrogen content was determined using nuclear resonance reaction analysis. From the resulting water

Oxidation at a sol–gel composite electrode doped with a dirhodium-substituted polyoxometalate for amperometric detection of peptides separated by HPLC

Talanta, 2000
Oxidation of a variety of compounds, including methionine (Met), using a complex formed between dirhodium(II) acetate and the lacunary form of phosphotungstic acid as the catalyst is effective over a wide range of conditions, including pH 2-10. Thus, amperometric detection at a composite in which this complex is immobilized in a sol-gel material does ...

Characterization by resonance Raman spectroscopy of sol–gel TiO2 films sensitized by the Ru(PPh3)2(dcbipy)Cl2 complex for solar cells application

Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, 2000
Abstract The development of TiO 2 photoelectrochemical cells is largely dependent on the elaboration of efficient dyes molecules to sensitize the nanocrystalline titania surfaces. In the present work, a new system functioning on this basis is proposed: an Ru(II) complex bearing two triphenylphosphine (PPh 3 ) and one 2,2′-bipyridyl-4,4 ...

NMR characterization on the preparation of sol–gel derived mixed oxide materials

International Journal of Inorganic Materials, 2001
Abstract The hydrolysis and polycondensation reaction of titanium(IV) isopropoxide was chemically modified by acetylacetone, ethylacetoacetate and triethanolamine. The reaction rates of these modified isopropoxides were investigated by 1 H NMR spectroscopy.

Effects of rare-earth concentration and heat-treatment on the structural and luminescence properties of europium-doped zirconia sol–gel planar waveguides

Optical Materials, 2007
Sol–gel zirconia films doped with Eu3+ concentrations ranging from 0.2% to 10%, were prepared by dip-coating a solution of the starting precursor, zirconium n-propoxide, ethanol, methanol, water, acetic acid and europium nitrate on glass and SiO2/Si wafer substrates. The ZrO2sol thus synthesized remains stable for several months.

The textured PbTiO3–A12O3 composite films prepared by the sol–gel method

International Journal of Inorganic Materials, 2001
Abstract The sol–gel method was used to prepare PbTiO 3 (PT) and PbTiO 3 –A1 2 O 3 (PT–AL) thin films on amorphous (SiO 2 glass) and crystalline (111) Si, and (0001) Al 2 O 3 ) substrates using the dip-coating technique. The films were examined by XRD methods to describe the phase composition, cell parameters and degree of texture, by electron ...

Electrochromic characterization of Co(OH)2 thin film prepared by sol–gel process

Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, 1998
Abstract Electrochemical, spectroscopic and structural measurements were used to characterize the electrochromic behavior and stability of sol–gel deposited Co(OH) 2 thin films. These films were prepared from polymeric solutions containing cobalt methoxyethoxide precursor by spin coating technique.
