Sol-Gel Synthesis of Protoenstatite

MRS Proceedings, 1994
ABSTRACTProtoenstatite, a high-temperature polymorph of enstatite (MgSiO3), is generally not stable at room temperature, and is difficult to synthesize. Using a recently developed, hydrogen peroxide-assisted, sol-gel synthesis, protoenstatite was synthesized in a

High-temperature catalysts through sol–gel synthesis

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1998
Abstract Sol–gel chemistry is an efficient tool for controlling morphology and reactivity of solids and its potential in the development of tailor-made and thermally stable industrial catalysts is discussed. The key targets in catalyst preparation are mechanically and thermally stable morphology, highly dispersed active phase on homogeneous carrier ...

Sol–gel combustion synthesis of BNBT powders

Journal of Sol-Gel Science and Technology, 2008
Ba-modified bismuth sodium titanate with composition 0.94[(Bi0.5Na0.5)TiO3]-0.06BaTiO3 (BNBT) was prepared by a citrate nitrate sol-gel combustion method. The sol was obtained using barium acetate, bismuth nitrate, sodium nitrate and a peroxo-citrate complex of titanium isopropoxide as starting precursors.

Sol–Gel Synthesis of Oxonitridoaluminosilicates (SiAlON)

Russian Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2020
Specific features of the synthesis of sialons (SiAlON) in the Si–Al–O–N system by firing at 1600–1700°C in a nitrogen atmosphere of mixtures of different initial compositions corresponding to the same composition of the final product Si3Al3O3N5 have been studied.

Synthesis of nanocrystalline gadolinium doped ceria via sol–gel combustion and sol–gel synthesis routes

Ceramics International, 2016
Abstract Gadolinium doped ceria (GDC) has been investigated as a promising material for application as an electrolyte in intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells (IT-SOFC). In this work, 10GDC powders (Gd 0.1 Ce 0.9 O 1.95 ) were synthesized by sol–gel combustion and sol–gel synthesis routes using the same complexing agents in both procedures.

SOL-GEL synthesis of mullite coatings

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2021
Abstract Metals and their alloys, though having a broad spectrum of applications, cannot fulfill the requirements for the high temperature applications which are being and have been conceived these days. The higher operating temperatures pave the way for further technological advances.

Comparative study of nanocrystalline titanium dioxide obtained through sol–gel and sol–gel–hydrothermal synthesis

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2013
TiO2 particles were prepared by sol-gel method alone and by sol-gel method combined with hydrothermal treatment. The structural and photocatalytic properties of the two series of photocatalysts were compared. XRD studies revealed that rutilization was faster in the series of photocatalysts, which had been additionally subjected to a hydrothermal ...

Sol?gel synthesis of cobalt?niobia catalysts

Solid State Ionics, 1997
Cobalt-niobia catalysts were prepared using different variants of the colloidal sol-gel technique and wetness impregnation. Characterization of these catalysts by XRD, FT-IR, XPS and TEM showed that phases structure as well as superficial composition depended on the preparation route. It was found that niobia exhibits a strong metal support interaction
