Potentialities of the sol-gel route to develop cathode and electrolyte thick layers Application to SOFC systems [PDF]
In this work, we report the potential of sol–gel process to prepare cathode and electrolyte thin and thick layers on anodic NiO-YSZ supports which were also made from powders prepared by sol–gel route.

Thin hydroxyapatite coatings via sol–gel synthesis
Production of hydroxyapatite coatings using an alkoxide-based sol-gel route requires control of solution aging time and heating schedule. 31P nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy was used to investigate the changes during aging of the sol and thermal gravimetric analysis employed to study the behavior of the xerogels as a function of temperature ...

Commensurate Nb2Zr5O15: Accessible Within the Field Nb2ZrxO2x+5 After All [PDF]
Doped niobium zirconium oxides are applied in field-effect transistors and as special-purpose coatings. Whereas their material properties are sufficiently known, their crystal structures remain widely uncharacterized.

Ultrasound-assisted sol-gel synthesis of ZrO2
Synthesis of tetragonal ZrO2 by both conventional sol-gel and ultrasound-assisted sol-gel methods and using a non-ionic surfactant Tween-20, was performed. A porous microstructure composed of nanometric particles was observed. Tetragonal ZrO2 was obtained using a low heat treatment temperature of powders, 500°C by both methods.

Preparation of (Pb,Ba)TiO3 powders and highly oriented thin films by a sol-gel process [PDF]
Solid solution Pb1-xBaxTiO3, with particular emphasis on Pb0.5Ba0.5TiO3, was prepared using a sol-gel process incorporating lead acetate trihydrate, barium acetate, and titanium isopropoxide as precursors, acetylacetone (2,4 pentanedione) as a chelating ...

Mesoporous silica matrices derived from sol-gel process assisted by low power ultrasonic activation [PDF]
The present work contributes to elucidating the differences between silica gels obtained by low doses ultrason- ic activation, and those obtained by the conventional method, termed as classical sol gel.
