Ploidy and morphological characteristics of Solanum tuberosum × Solanum phureja hybrids

Pflügers Archiv - European Journal of Physiology, 2000
In attempt to induce doubled haploids in potato we studied interspecific hybrids between tetraploid Solanum tuberosum cultivars Igor, Jana, Vesna, Romano, Arinda, Fianna, Donald and Vital and Solanum phureja (clone IVP 48). Four out of eight cultivars produced 21 berries in total and 149 seedlings were obtained.

Polyhaploids of Solanum demissum

Nature, 1950
Solanum demissum Lindl. (2n = 72) has been used at the Commonwealth Potato Collection as the maternal parent in various crosses with cultivated and wild diploid species (2n = 24) of Solanum. The results to date are given in the accompanying table.

Rooting Characteristics of Solanum chacoense and Solanum tuberosum in Vitro

American Journal of Potato Research, 2017
The precise level of environmental control in vitro may aid in identifying genetically superior plant germplasm for rooting characteristics (RC) linked to increased foraging for plant nitrogen (N). The objectives of this research were to determine the phenotypic variation in root morphological responses of 49 Solanum chacoense (chc), 30 Solanum ...

Foliar flavonoids of North American Solanum section Solanum

Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, 1984
Abstract A total of ten flavonoids, all flavonols, were isolated from leaves of eleven species of Solanum sect. Solanum . Most species had relatively few compounds, primarily quercetin 3- O -glycosides. Little intraspecific variation in flavonoids was observed, except in S.
