A global analysis strategy to resolve neutrino NSI degeneracies with scattering and oscillation data

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
Neutrino non-standard interactions (NSI) with the first generation of standard model fermions can span a parameter space of large dimension and exhibit degeneracies that cannot be broken by a single class of experiment.

A neutrino decay model, solar antineutrinos and atmospheric neutrinos

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1992
Abstract The neutrino decay solution to the solar neutrino problem calls for large mixing and a short lifetime for the decaying neutrino. We propose a model for neutrino masses which has these features and furthermore leads to decays into antineutrinos. The resulting fluxes of v e 's are detectable in future solar neutrino detectors.

Dark matter and exotic neutrino interactions in direct detection searches

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We investigate the effect of new physics interacting with both Dark Matter (DM) and neutrinos at DM direct detection experiments. Working within a simplified model formalism, we consider vector and scalar mediators to determine the scattering of DM as ...

Majorana Neutrino Masses from Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay and Cosmology [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
When three Majorana neutrinos describe the solar and atmospheric neutrino data via oscillations, a nonzero measurement of neutrinoless double beta ($0\nu\beta\beta$) decay can determine the sum of neutrino masses $\sum m_\nu$ if the solar solution has ...

Radar Polarimetry in Glaciology: Theory, Measurement Techniques, and Scientific Applications for Investigating the Anisotropy of Ice Masses

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 63, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Dielectric anisotropy in ice alters the propagation of polarized radio waves, so polarimetric radar sounding can be used to survey anisotropic properties of ice masses. Ice anisotropy is either intrinsic, associated with ice‐crystal orientation fabric (COF), or extrinsic, associated with material heterogeneity, such as bubbles, fractures, and ...

A hidden hierarchy of neutrino masses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The Dirac masses of neutrinos can exhibit a strong hierarchy even if the Majorana masses of the right-handed neutrinos are degenerate and the hierarchy of the mass scales governing the oscillations of solar and atmospheric neutrinos is rather small. This

Quantification of Perturbation to the Daytime Lower Ionosphere From a Gamma Ray Burst Using ELF Remote Sensing

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 22, 28 November 2025.
Abstract On 9 October 2022, a powerful gamma ray burst (GRB), GRB221009A, caused significant changes in the electron density of the lower ionosphere, as evidenced by VLF (3–30 kHz) radio wave observations. However, GRB221009A did not yield any observable signatures at the Schumann resonances (∼8, ∼14 Hz), which are also sensitive to the lower ...

Light scalar dark matter at neutrino oscillation experiments

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
Couplings between light scalar dark matter (DM) and neutrinos induce a perturbation to the neutrino mass matrix. If the DM oscillation period is smaller than ten minutes (or equivalently, the DM particle is heavier than 0.69×10−17 eV), the fast-averaging

Improved global fit to Non-Standard neutrino Interactions using COHERENT energy and timing data

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We perform a global fit to neutrino oscillation and coherent neutrino-nucleus scattering data, using both timing and energy information from the COHERENT experiment. The results are used to set model-independent bounds on four-fermion effective operators

Atmospheric Neutrino Problem in Maximally-Mixed Three Generations of Neutrinos

open access: yes, 1994
Motivated by the indication that both the atmospheric and the solar neutrino puzzles may simultaneously be solved by (vacuum as well as matter-induced resonant) oscillations of two generations of neutrinos with large mixing, we have analyzed the data on ...
