Strengthened Interfacial Coupling Between Self‐Assembled Monolayers and Bulk Heterojunctions Enables Thermally Stable Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Molecularly engineered self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) featuring extended conjugated terminals facilitate superior interfacial coupling with the organic solar cell active layer. By physically anchoring the local morphology, this design suppresses thermal degradation, allowing devices to operate at 85°C for 150 h before degrading to 90% of their ...

Toward a Comprehensive Grid of Cepheid Models with MESA. I. Uncertainties of the Evolutionary Tracks of Intermediate-mass Stars

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Helium-burning stars, in particular Cepheids, are especially difficult to model, as the choice of free parameters can greatly impact the shape of the blue loops—the part of the evolutionary track at which the instability strip is crossed.

Photocatalytic Water Splitting on the Lunar Surface: Prospects for In Situ Resource Utilization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Water has been found in craters on the moon nearby locations which are illuminated >80% of the time. Photocatalysis uses energy from sunlight to drive chemical reactions such as water splitting to produce oxygen and hydrogen. It is a scalable technology that requires lighter equipment and utilizes resources available on the moon. ABSTRACT The discovery

Using Lithium and Beryllium to Study Structure and Evolution of Rotating Stars

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The chemical composition of the Sun is still a highly controversial issue. No solar model has yet been able to simultaneously reproduce the solar lithium and beryllium abundances, along with helioseismic results, including the rotation profile.

Atomic Layer Deposition of Metallic Molybdenum Dioxide Thin Films Enabling High‐k Rutile Capacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The first direct atomic layer deposition (ALD) process of molybdenum dioxide (MoO2) thin films is reported using molybdenum(II) acetate dimer (Mo2(OAc)4) and oxygen (O2) as precursors at 235°C–275°C. The films are crystalline, exceptionally pure, and conductive.

The Asteroseismological Richness of RCB and dLHdC Stars

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
RCB stars are L ≈ 10 ^4 L _⊙ solar-mass objects that can exhibit large periods of extinction from dust ejection episodes. Many exhibit semi-regular pulsations in the range of 30–50 days with semi-amplitudes of 0.05–0.3 mag.

Assessing TiO2/Chitosan‐Based Hydrogels for Water Remediation: Sunlight‐Driven Degradation of Antibiotics in Water

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Chitosan–TiO2 composite hydrogels combine adsorption of organic pollutants with photocatalysis, allowing to remove 85% of a broadly diffused antibiotic (sulfamethoxazole) under direct sunlight irradiation, opening great promises for point‐of‐use, outdoor applications.

Using Asteroseismology to Calibrate the Physical Parameters of Confirmed Exoplanets and Their Evolved Host Stars

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Asteroseismology offers a profound window into stellar interiors and has emerged as a pivotal technique in exoplanetary research. This study harnesses the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite observations to reveal, for the first time, the asteroseismic

Advances in Halide Perovskites for Photon Radiation Detectors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work highlights recent progress in perovskite‐based photon radiation detectors, covering organic–inorganic hybrid, inorganic, lead‐free double, and vacancy‐ordered halide perovskites. Their detection performance is compared, material‐specific advantages and challenges are examined, and provides insight into current limitations and future ...

Detectability of Axisymmetric Magnetic Fields from the Core to the Surface of Oscillating Post-main-sequence Stars

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Magnetic fields in the stellar interiors are key candidates to explain observed core rotation rates inside solar-like stars along their evolution. Recently, asteroseismic estimates of radial magnetic field amplitudes near the hydrogen-burning shell (H ...
