Simulation of a solar collector array consisting of two types of solar collectors, with and without convection barrier [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The installed area of solar collectors in solar heating fields is rapidly increasing in Denmark. In this scenario even relatively small performance improvements may lead to a large increase in the overall energy production.

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Development of a new CO2 liquefaction system using the Linde–Hampson process, Kalina power generation unit, and flat plate solar collectors with Al2O3/H2O nanofluid

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2022
Greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere have had devastating environmental effects, including ozone depletion and global warming. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is widely used in oil and gas plants, the food industry, and as a working fluid in the power ...

Flexible Leaf‐Like Fuel Cell From Plasmonic Janus Nanosheet

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible leaf‐like fuel cell is fabricated by conductive gold nanowire sponge‐supported plasmonic Janus nanosheet, which can generate a power of 8.93 mW cm⁻2 with less than 10% performance deterioration even being bent or twisted. Further assembly in a tree‐like layout demonstrates omnidirectional light harvesting capability and wind resistance ...

Influences of the Twisted Strips Insertion on the Performance of Flat Plate Water Solar Collector

open access: yesAl-Khawarizmi Engineering Journal, 2015
In order to enhance the efficiency of flat plate solar water collectors without changing in its original shape and with low additional cost, twisted strips are inserted inside its riser pipes. Three flat plate collectors are used for test.

Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Solution‐Processable and Ambient‐Stable Highly Conductive p‐Type Polymers Derived from Dihydropyrazine and Ethylenedioxythiophene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents π–conjugated polymers based on dihydropyrazine (DHP) and ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT), developed to produce highly conductive, flexible films for printed electronics. By optimizing the DHP and EDOT ratio, strong and compact π–π stacking is achieved, resulting in polymer films with conductivities up to 1700 S cm−1 under ambient ...
